Chapter 64 - Mitch's Birthday

"You'll regret this!" Mitch hissed, his venomous gaze switched from Zeke, to Sean.

His eyes filled with hatred, malice, and disgust all at once.

"You had this coming," Zeke replied, coldly.

"Fine! Since you leave me no choice, I will abdicate! But just you wait, one day!" Mitch hissed, reluctance in his tone.

"Why is that?" Sean asked warily.

"It's my birthday today. Seeing how I've done so much for you ungrateful f*cks, I should at least be allowed a nice, birthday banquet!" Mitch said, his fists clenched.

Sean's frown became more intense, a lot can happen within a day.

However, Sean had no reason to reject Mitch's appeal.

"Alright, I'll give you that. You will relinquish the throne tomorrow!" Sean replied calmly.

"Let us leave, Paxton," Mitch said, his voice full of anger.

Paxton did not hesitate to follow his father out, but as he left, he gave Zeke a daggered look.

To Paxton, everything that happened his father and him is all because of Zeke the B*stard.

Mitch's followers followed suit.

"Uncle!" Zeke called for Sean, who replied with a nod.

Sean turned to the rest of the Khan and spoke, "Do not fret everyone! Once Zeke returns to his seat, we will seek out the Sun for answers! Their insults will not go unpunished!" He continued,

"Dismissed!"

With that, the clansmen left, each left feeling excited and satisfied.

"Zeke boy, come, follow me." Sean waved his hand at Zeke.

Zeke was curious about his uncle Sean, and at the same time, had many questions for him.

After a brisk walk, they entered a small house.

Zeke could not help but ask, "Uncle Sean, have you been protecting me all this time?"

It was the question that Zeke has had since the first time he knew about it.

Had Sean intervened in his previous life, Zeke would not have ran away, Lily would not have killed herself, and he would not have lived a life full of regret.

"I knew you'd ask that," Sean replied, with a smile.

Sean poured himself a drink, took a few sips, then replyid, "You are Zayn's only son! When he disappeared, I prepared my place for you to stay, it was easier for me to take care of you," he paused for a moment,

"but your potential was just too average, I did not want you to live a dull life..."

Hearing this, Zeke knew the answer.

"For one to be the patriarch, power was not the most crucial factor. I had to train you by not intervening, to let you have a taste of the hardships life had to offer... I did not expect Mitch to be so cruel!" Sean flashed a solemn look.

"Zeke boy, I'm sure you understand my... my troubles," sighed Sean.

Zeke nodded, having lived through two lives of torment, how could he not know?

"I understand uncle Spout, thank you!" he replied, the resentment he had towards Sean dissipated almost instantly.

"That's good, who knew being chased into the Feather Forest would make you grow so much," Sean sighed, seeing Zeke wracked him with guilt.

Had he been more careful, perhaps Zeke need not enter the Forest.
