Li Na looked at Ling Wei and slightly lowered her head. "Where are you guys going?" she asked in a low mood.
"To the academy," Han Jun replied. "I will be there longer; if you want to see me, then you can visit," he added.
Li Na raised her head and looked at Han Jun, a soft smile appearing on her face. "Then I will visit you later," she said, her mood returning back.
"Whatever," Ling Wei scoffed.
Li Na smiled once again and approached a black horse. She dragged the man on it down and took the reins, flashing Han Jun a loving smile. "Take care," she said before riding away.
"It's getting late; let's visit the academy immediately," Ling Wei said, soaring up to the sky and disappearing from sight in just a blink.
*Hermen School, Cultivator Academy.*
Three people were standing in front of a huge dragon-scale gate. It was gold in color, and perfectly curved in the middle, with a tiger head devouring an iron knocker.
Han Jun took the lead and grabbed the iron knocker, slamming it against the dragon-scale door, which produced a welcoming sound.
The giant door opened automatically after the welcoming sound faded, revealing the vast and beautiful compound of the academy. The air was refreshing, and the atmosphere was inviting.
Han Jun and his companions entered the compound and calmly moved forward.
"Freshmen, follow me to the registration room," a gentle voice called from in front of them.
Standing before them was an average beauty dressed in blue silk. Her hands were elegantly placed on her tummy, and her hair was styled freely. With a flushed face, she exuded an air of nobility just by standing gracefully.
"Thank you," Han Jun replied. The lady turned back, her waist twisting perfectly as she led them to the registration room, where a crowd had already formed. After finishing her task, she left, stealing another glance at Han Jun.
Gazing at the endless crowd, the three companions frowned.
"Is there any way to escape the queue?" Han Jun asked Ling Wei, glancing at the long line of people.
"Just a sec," Ling Wei replied, and suddenly whistled.
Her whistle was so loud that it calmed the crowd; everyone turned back and parted ways for her.
"Look at this beauty! Who is she?" someone among the crowd exclaimed.
"Goodness! The academy is now blessed with beauties! Look at the man behind her!" another voice chimed in.
"Who was that golden-haired lady? Did she cultivate in the nature element?" someone else speculated.
"We'll find out their backgrounds soon; let's pay close attention," another murmured.
Ling Wei said nothing and made her way to the three men seated at the front of the room. Han Jun and Shu Fang followed her closely.
"Ling Wei... three thousand years old... female... seductress cultivator... Stage One, Mid-Beginner Cultivator Level Two... from Ling Royal clan," Ling Wei introduced herself.
The man in the middle adjusted his glasses and jotted something down in an old book. After a while, he put the ink down, tore the page from the book, and handed it to the man on his left. Ling Wei then moved to the left side of the queue. The man in the middle attended to the next person, Han Jun.
Han Jun looked at the man holding the ink, studying him carefully. "Han Jun," he stated.
The man suddenly raised his head and stared deeply at Han Jun before shaking his head lightly and gesturing for him to continue.
Han Jun frowned suspiciously but continued his introduction. "Three thousand years old... male... Stage Zero... Level Zero cultivator."
Hearing Han Jun's words, the crowd erupted into murmurs, and even the three men raised their heads to look at Han Jun.
Ling Wei bit her lower lip and sighed. "Goodness," she muttered, shaking her head.
Han Jun remained unfazed by their scrutiny and didn't look at Ling Wei to confirm if he'd made a mistake. Instead, he continued. "Fire element cultivator... From Han family," he added.
The three men exchanged glances, and even Shu Fang, who was behind Han Jun, struggled to hide a smile.
"Young man..." the man in the middle spoke, his voice old and authoritative. "This isn't a place to play," he said calmly.
Han Jun was about to respond when a soft, gentle voice interrupted him. "The academy accepts those who know nothing about cultivation as well... there's no need to question him."
Everyone turned to the source of the voice, revealing a stunning black-haired lady standing elegantly at the entrance. She wore a long teacher's robe, colored in white, and her hair was pulled back, cascading down to her waist. A gentle smile graced her pretty face, making her a rare beauty that captivated hearts at first sight.
"Look... isn't that Miss Fanny?"
"It's her... what is she doing here?"
"Goodness... I see the academy beauty! I see her!"
"Miss Fanny! Miss Fanny!"
Han Jun turned back and saw the beauty as well. He raised his brows lightly before shifting his gaze away.
The beauty named Miss Fanny noticed Han Jun turning away, and a surprised expression flashed across her face. Her gaze landed on Shu Fang, whose back was facing her, and then on Ling Wei, who didn't spare her a glance. Finally, her gaze rested on Han Jun's back. "Where did this weirdo come from?" she thought to herself. "This man... is he from the royal palace or the Hong family?" she wondered, staring fixedly at Han Jun's crimson hair.
"Miss Fanny, why are you here?" the man in the middle asked in a respectful tone.
Fanny shifted her gaze away from Han Jun and looked at the man in the middle. "I'm just here to inform you that you can only accept five more students for today," she replied.
"I heard you, Miss Fanny," the man in the middle replied.
Fanny nodded and cast another look at Han Jun before she left.
After Fanny left, the man glanced once more at Han Jun before writing down his information and passing it to the man on his right side.
Just like Ling Wei, Han Jun moved to the man on the left.
Shu Fang stepped forward next, and her gentle, calm, melodious voice rang out. "Shu Fang... two thousand years old... female... Stage One, Mid-Beginner Cultivator Level Three... From Shu family clan." She introduced herself.
Everyone found themselves replaying the magnetic voice in their heads, and they couldn't help but imagine the true beauty hidden under the veil. Even the men raised their brows in surprise, but it lasted only a few seconds.
The man in the middle registered her information and tore the paper as usual, giving it to the man on his right side. Shu Fang then moved to the same man.
The man in the middle stood up. "As you have heard, students' registration for today ends; three more people should wait behind, and others can come tomorrow," he announced.
A murmur started among the people, but they eventually left, leaving three individuals behind in the queue. The room finally had space.
Ling Wei, Shu Fang, and Han Jun received a small piece of paper before they exited the room.
"Darling, what was with that whistle you blew earlier?" Han Jun asked Ling Wei as soon as they got outside.
"It's a warning sign. Anyone below my cultivation level has to submit to my demands," Ling Wei replied, a smile appearing on her face as she seemed to recall something.
Han Jun gave Ling Wei a suspicious glance, noticing the sweet smile on her lips. "Someone taught you?" he asked.
Ling Wei nodded. "Someone very important to me," she replied.
"Very important to you," Han Jun repeated with a frowned brows.
Ling Wei heard the tone in Han Jun's voice and chuckled. "In the academy, we are not husband and wife; don't ruin things," she said with a laugh.
"I will get back at you," Han Jun replied in a low voice.
"Does the academy support cheating?" Shu Fang asked.
"What did you see?" Ling Wei inquired.
"The whistle," Shu Fang responded.
Ling Wei shook her head. "It doesn't, but in the registration room, anyone whose power is above others can take the front. Those behind the more powerful person will have the opportunity to take next."
"I see," Han Jun and Shu Fang nodded.
"Wait..." Han Jun looked at the two ladies, seeming to suddenly realize something. "Why did you both register yourselves too?" he asked.
"Of course, it's to not be far from you," the two ladies replied in unison, even before Han Jun finished his statement.
Han Jun's mouth hung open. "Seriously," he murmured.
The two ladies blushed in embarrassment. "Um... this little paper... what is its usefulness?" Shu Fang asked to change the awkward air around them.
"We will have to visit the writing house now. The piece of paper is useful there," Ling Wei replied.
"Then lead the way," Shu Fang said, and Ling Wei quickly took the lead, with Shu Fang following almost in a run.
Han Jun looked at the two ladies and smiled before following them.
*Author's Note: it's already a plan that Shu Fang and Ling wei won't expose their real age and cultivation stage. As for their secret to be exposed, they are already at God stage, people in this world are cultivator below God stage so they couldn't predict the ladies stage of cultivation unless another God stage cultivator or above appeared.
