--
The car door opened, and by this time, Aaron had already walked up.
He had slept so soundly that he hadn't heard any of the conversations that went on in the car.
"Um, you guys can go, alright? Just tell Kris that I've arrived safely."
The bodyguards moved as if they were about to follow Aaron in, and Aaron, seeing their gesture, shook his head and advised them on what to tell Kris.
He knew they were scared of Kris, which was why they wanted to walk in with him. But no, he already had plans. He wouldn't let Kris's men ruin that for him.
He hadn't had his fun with the adorable Ethan yet, and the interjection of his somewhat possessive husband wouldn't make him change his mind.
"Young master, sir, but the boss asked us to follow you."
A less bulky bodyguard among the group seemed to disagree with Aaron and stated his concern.
He looked quite timid for a bodyguard, Aaron noted.
It's not like he was going to war or anything; there was no reason for Kris to be this... Aaron couldn't find the right word.
"Men, be gentlemen and obey what your master says."
Aaron frowned, putting his hands on his hips and lecturing the guards.
Now, the only problem was how to deceive these guards so they would leave. The situation was tough...what was he going to do to make them leave?
He couldn't help but frown. There was nothing he could do to make them leave. His plum lips bit themselves in frustration.
He needed to have some alone time with Ethan, and that seemed to be a problem. If Aaron said he wasn't angry right now, it would be a lie.
As a matter of fact, he was really angry and wanted to vent, though it might be himself who would get hurt because he couldn't hurt a fly.
The bodyguards stood before Aaron like mountains, high mountains blocking his path,
his path to go see the adorable Ethan! At this point, this was why Aaron was annoyed.
The bodyguards stood stiffly, one of them secretly adjusting his suit. They didn't want to disobey their master,
but it was better to ignore the little devil and obey the big one. Their jobs, or even painful consequences, might be at stake. Things seemed to be getting complicated for them as their master wouldn't let them do their job freely.
"Why you..." Aaron continued, pointing his fingers, his face obviously frowning as he pursed his lips, trying to say harsh words. "At the count of A, B, C, all of you better go and leave me alone!"
His shoulders trembled as he yelled, and that seemed to be the loudest he could go.
The bodyguards wanted to groan; they were just following orders. Their master was too complicated for them at this moment.
There seemed to be no solution to the problem. One of the bodyguards, without much choice, took action and came forward to Aaron, almost kneeling down.
He was halfway there when Aaron's eyes widened seeing this, and he stopped him, holding the bodyguard up.
"Ahhh!"
A shriek came from the bodyguard, making Aaron look down at where the pain came from. There was a bandage on the guard's hand.
Aaron recollected seeing this...there was no bandage on the guard's hand earlier. What had happened?
He couldn't put two and two together. He directed his question to the guard.
"What happened to your hand? How did this happen?"
His voice sounded panicked. The arm injury on the guard seemed quite large.
"Master, sir, it's nothing. I don't know how I got injured..."
The bodyguard tried to explain but stopped halfway as he realized he was trying to explain something foolish.
"What did you say?"
There are two types of people: one who is curious and one who just lets it go. Aaron was the first type.
He raised a brow, bending closer to hear. Why had the guard said nonsense? There was something suspicious about the injury, and he wasn't saying it.
"Don't bother about it anymore."
"You all are so stubborn. Let's go."
Aaron turned around, stepping into the tall building before him. He got into the elevator.
A pile of hefty bodyguards was left standing in front of the building, guarding it like some precious treasure.
The elevator doors closed. Aaron used his index finger to press the button, and with a beep, the doors opened. The lift was empty; no one else was inside.
He stepped in, and the lift took off toward the top floor.
The elevator stopped with a beep, and Aaron stepped out. He moved down the hallway toward the doors.
There were different sets of doors with room numbers. The architectural design was weird.
The place was quiet; no one came out. Aaron looked around, back and forth, his face scrunching up in confusion.
He was totally lost!
"Which one is Ethan's room again?" he muttered. It was unbelievable, but he had really forgotten.
He was confused and didn't know where to go. He looked around at the many rooms, making his head spin.
Now, he paced the hallway, moving back and forth, clenching his fists in frustration. He was so confused and had no idea what to do next.
"I seem to be lost," he thought, feeling a bit embarrassed.
As he stood there, unsure of where to go, a cheerful Lala with yellow-blond hair walked over to him.
The Lala seemed relaxed and friendly, smiling as they approached. "Hey, are you lost? Which room are you looking for?" they asked kindly.
Aaron smiled back, feeling relieved to have someone help. "Well, I'm going to Ethan's room," Aaron replied, hoping the Lala knew where it was.
The Lala laughed, and as soon as Aaron heard their voice, he realized they were a Lala.
He had a feeling from the start, but now he was sure. "I'm looking for Ethan," Aaron repeated, just to be clear.
"Oh, you're looking for that cute one?" the Lala said with a grin, teasing a little. Aaron couldn't help but smile back. "Yes, exactly."
The Lala, friendly as ever, pointed Aaron toward the room. "That's the room right over there," they said, still smiling.
Aaron turned to look at the room and was surprised. The room had been facing him the whole time.
He immediately caught it...he had been looking for the number,
but the room was right in front of him. He shook his head at himself, thinking, "The room was facing me the whole time, and I didn't even realize it."
It seemed like he had eye issues, or maybe he was just too caught up in his confusion. The Lala watched, trying not to laugh at Aaron's silliness. Aaron scratched his head, feeling embarrassed.
The Lala didn't want to make Aaron feel bad, so they simply said goodbye.
That's when Aaron noticed that the Lala was holding trash.
They had just come out of their room to throw it away when Aaron was wandering around, lost. The Lala must have been watching him for a while.
Aaron nodded politely at the Lala, who still held the trash, and watched as they walked away.
Now, realizing the room was in front of him the entire time, Aaron finally headed in the right direction, putting his confusion behind him.
