Chapter 63 - The Twin Scorpions

There was a time when scorpions were born only once every 5 years. Only have, but to everyone's surprise, only 2 came out of the same egg. For this, the mother scorpion was told she couldn't have more than one egg. She looked at the 2 babies who slept peacefully on the hard sandy ground in the Sahara desert.

The mama scorpion stared at her babies wondering if she would provide for them.

"My sweet babies..." her voice tender with love as she trails off. It can be seen within the creature's eyes. She continues, "I may have given birth to you both, but that won't change how I feel about you two. You Cersiana and You Samara will be the light that makes my day a better sight before I depart."

"My time with you is precious, as I will cherish it till you're ready." The mother scorpion said as she curled her tail around her babies giving them the warmth of family.

Days go by and the twin scorpions have grown... yet the mother doesn't see what has befallen her twins.

It was a warm day for Scorpios like them, and they enjoyed their walk with their mom. But then, came a giant unto them and only that the mother saw this happen before her eyes. The giant came over to her children and a SQUASH can be heard from her abdominal ears.

What she saw made her instincts grow feral as she crawled towards the giant and raised her tail up so hard the giant was howling in pain. The mother nodded, she felt her revenge was in vain as she watched her only join go away through her claws.

"I told you to be careful, girls. Now..." she sobbed tears falling from her black eyes, "you're both gone from my life."

She didn't expect one of the dying scorpions to speak, "I'm sorry, mama. You were right...*cough* We should have been wary of our surroundings. We made the mistake of counting on you to protect us. Please *gasp* forgive us..."

The mother scorpion stood there watching her babies ask for forgiveness, "Y-You h-have my...forgiveness, my sweet scorpion."

With that, the mother took her life through her venomous tail as she joined her twins up to heaven.
