'…How am I supposed to focus' There was a plate of steaming hot food in front of me and yet my heart was racing.

"You learn something new everyday" Amelia muttered with a shake of her head across the table.
"So how was your day Maya" My mother moved on from the conversation but she was interrupted when the sound of the doorbell rang out.

"I'll get it" My mother let out a soft sigh and pushed her chair back to stand up.
