Chapter 2 - 2 The Attack on Eldoria

"No... not again," he breathed, breaking into a run.

The village, usually vibrant with lanterns and evening chatter, was now shrouded in chaos. Villagers were running in panic, and some were trying to fend off the creatures with whatever they could find. Kaito spotted Mrs. Hoshino, clutching a small child.

"Mrs. Hoshino!" he called out, running to her.

"Kaito! Thank heavens you're back!" she cried. "These monsters came out of nowhere!"

Summoning his courage, Kaito charged into the village, wielding the mysterious blade. He confronted the dark creatures, and to his astonishment, the sword glowed with a strange, powerful light. Each swing of the blade cut through the monsters effortlessly, the blade moving as if guided by an unseen force.

"Stay behind me!" he shouted to the helpless villagers.

The creatures, sensing the blade's power, started converging on him. Kaito fought valiantly, driven by the vision and the need to protect his home. He used every ounce of strength and skill to fend off the creatures, his movements becoming more fluid and precise with each strike. Yet, every blow he landed brought a flash of the fire that took his family, and he fought not just the monsters, but the ghosts of his past.

Hiroshi appeared beside him, wielding a large stick. "I'll fight with you, Kaito!"

Kaito nodded, grateful but pained. "Thank you, Mr. Hiroshi. Together, we can do this!"

The villagers, inspired by his bravery, began to join the fight, using makeshift weapons and tools. A blacksmith swung a heavy hammer, a farmer used his pitchfork, and even children threw stones to help defend their home.

After an intense and grueling battle, Kaito and the villagers managed to fend off the last of the dark creatures. The village was left in ruins, and the survivors looked to Kaito as a hero.

Hiroshi placed a hand on Kaito's shoulder. "You saved us, Kaito. You're a true hero."

But Kaito shook his head, tears welling in his eyes. "No, this is just the beginning. The vision I saw... the voice... it's urging me to find the other Blades of Eternity."

Determined to stop the impending doom, Kaito decided he must leave the village and seek out the remaining Blades. He packed his belongings, taking only what he needed for the journey ahead, and with a heavy heart, bid farewell to Eldoria.

As he reached the outskirts, Mrs. Hoshino called out to him. "Be safe, Kaito. We'll be waiting for your return."Kaito looked back one last time, tears streaming down his face. "Goodbye, Eldoria. I promise to return and rebuild once this threat is vanquished," he murmured, a steely resolve in his eyes, but the weight of his past still heavy on his heart.

Kaito stood at the edge of the village, the weight of the mysterious blade heavy at his side. The sun had set, casting long shadows over the familiar landscape. He looked back one last time at the place he had called home, memories flooding his mind. The faces of the villagers, the laughter of children, the warmth of the hearth—it all felt like a world away now.

In the distance, the elven forest loomed, dark and mysterious. He had heard the tales, the warnings, but something inside him—an insistent, unyielding whisper—urged him forward. The blade seemed to hum with energy, a silent promise of the answers he sought.

"Goodbye," he whispered to the night, his heart a mix of sorrow and resolve. With one last, lingering glance, he turned his back on the village and began his journey into the unknown.

The path ahead was fraught with danger and uncertainty, but Kaito knew he couldn't turn back. His destiny awaited him in the depths of the elven forest.
