"Hey alley rat." He turned around and saw 4 high schoolers, still in uniform, blue jacket, white shirt. Ash smiled.

A few minutes later, a boy with white hair and grey pupils walked out of the alley in a Legacy Academy uniform.
*School must be out* He went to a park and sat there, opening his inventory.

"Um, hi there" He looked up to see two girls looking at him shyly. Putting on a smile, he asked.
"Hi, what's up."
The first girl said "We're from master's academy and we saw your uniform, are you by any chance from Legacy Academy"
"Of course, why"
"You'll be going for the national tournament soon and so could we have your number so that we can meet up there"
Noticing his blank stare, the second girl said, "I get it, I always forget about it too, The national tournament is where schools battle it out across different subject, you can apply privately but, no one has ever beat it, there's a lot fo prizes too and scholarships."
"But you seem strong, you could probably beat it yourself" the first girl said.
After thinking it over, he thanked them and asked for where to sign up privately, then he got on his way.
Looking at his retreating back, the girls walked back to their classmates.
"How did we do Mark" Aya, the first girl said.

The bulky guy they were talking to said "You did wonderfully" grinning devilishly at his retreating back, "We aren't losing to legacy this time"

But In another room, the other girl also did extremely well, but no one talked about her.
When their tests ended and Claire came out, there was applause as her final rank was shown, so much so that, no one saw the other girl quietly slip away. Or maybe they didn't care.

The other girl sat In the corner, looking down sadly.

And with a smile he said"My name's Ash, sorry for scaring you"
From across the room, Claire looked in displeasure.
ASH and MIKE Boardwhite, PLEASE MOVE TO TESTING ROOM 8.
"I'll see you around Clarise" he said, seeing her sad expression. "Don't worry, I'll be back"
"Welcome Ash,I am the invigilator,Frame. Mike is already inside. I'll explain the process."
Showing him inside, Frame said "The first test is a power test, you channel your power into this crystal and it will gauge it, then a combat test, then endurance then mental prowess" walking out he said "Your test begins. Now"
Looking at the crystal for a few moments, Ash put his hand on the crystal then removed it, seeing it turned from purple to a dull grey.

He went to the next section and walked through the barrier, a screen came to life.

Then he saw red.
Forcing himself to calm down, Ash said. "You better try your best." As his Eyes turned as black as the aura sorounding him and as black as the short sword he was now holding
"I'm sorry, what did you say" the sihllouete of a man dressed in an old fashion said.
"I said," Ash shouted, appearing in front of the man in the blink of an eye"YOU BETTER TRY YOUR BEST ASSHOLE" as he sliced, feeling nothing but air.
"Impressive," the voice said behind him grabbing the ankles that were still in midair"You're almost as fast as me" and threw him across the room. Landing on his feet, he rushed to the man and attempted to kick him, when the man moved to avoid it he saw the sword coming to his face.
A fake he said pulling out his walking stick and blocked it.
"You are privileged to see this" the man said as he pulled out a concealed sword.
"Consider yourself lucky"
"You've been holding out on me old man." Ash taunted. They lunged at each other and clashed at a speed so incredible that even the woman watching was impressed, glued to her seat even as the rest of them went to attempt to hire Mike.
They fought and fought, the man's breaths becoming heavier and sweat forming on his face. Eventually, he was too fatigued to continue.
"I'm tired of playing with sheep." Opening his palm to release a massive storm of fire, completely engulfing Ash.
Coughing, the man knelt, using his stick as support.
"I'm to old for this." Opening his palm to reduce the flames, they only intensified and started to move as if it had a mind of it's own.
"You call that flame control" Ash said, the flames opening to reveal him, unscathed as the flames moved more intensely, increasing speed until condensing to a tiny ball that Ash's finger held up. Pointing it at him, he said words that scared the woman watching.
No, the woman thought, her heart rate intensified It can't be
"This is flame control."
It is as the flames roasted the man and the simulation stoped.
