Uncle Ray and I, along with a few warriors, rushed off to find the whereabouts of the intruders who had dared to disturb the pack's peace. Some stood guard in place to secure the territory while Uncle Ray and I followed the scent trail they left behind.
The intruders were too thoughtful because the scent they left behind disappeared in just a few seconds —a rare occurrence. Moreover, wolves have a keen sense of smell, so there was no way they could be fooled so easily.
"Damn it! We've lost track of them," Uncle Ray complained, clenching his hands tightly while I remained silent as I tried to hear what the others couldn't.
There were strange noises that I was sure weren't coming from the wolves. I could even sense where they were coming from. However, just as I was about to move towards the source of the sound, Uncle Ray intervened.
"Wait, Ioris! You can't go there alone." He said, probably so that I would stay with him and not act alone.
