Chapter 2
Gurukul
The orgy of lightning along with the clouds on the island of Stonehenge, the angry wind tossing the birds here and there, breaking the branches of trees and the hollow trees screaming loudly were a clear sign that nature was showing its terrible form.
A Tantrik who was flying in the air making fun of this challenge of nature. There is not even a trace of worry on his head about that scene. He was closing a very big box from the top, shattering the efforts of nature.
There were ten big different types of marks on the box. That box was as big as a house. He was closing the box with his meditation when his gold necklace went inside the box.
Then some moments created by old memories take him back in time and his attention gets diverted. For this reason, a monkey's hand comes out of that box and grabs the leg of that Tantrik and takes him inside that box.
While going inside, Bhairav's eyes open in the darkness.
He finds himself in a black room where a husband and wife are fighting among themselves.
The husband says, "Ever since this boy came to this ashram, nothing good has happened." He shouts, "Leave it the way you adopted it."
A frightened voice comes out from the wife's tearful eyes and trembling lips.
"Look, don't say that, he has now accepted us as his own. That little child will not be able to bear all this".
After saying this the woman starts crying loudly.
Then Bhairav wakes up in panic. He wipes her big tear-filled eyes and sweaty forehead and sighs to himself, "Two dreams together for the first time."
Bhairav's uncle stands in front of him. he says
"What happened, I had a bad dream again?"
"Yes, this time at least two."
"Two dreams each. Do you know that these are connected to our previous birth?
"First let us know about this one birth. Will see after the previous birth."
Laughing, his uncle hands him a red dhoti and two pairs of slippers."
"This red dhoti and these strong slippers are the attire of this Gurukul. You change your clothes. Now my work ends here, so I will leave."
He closes his eyes and punches the air hard, leaving a small hole in the air. The hole gradually starts getting bigger.
"Radhe-Radhe. Take care."
"Radhe-Radhe uncle."
Then Bhairav sees from the window of his room that the birds are spreading happiness in the atmosphere with their sweet songs, in that happiness the leaves of the trees are dancing with the wind, the waves of water are also flowing with that wind.
In this sweet morning time, a person opens the door of a corridor in that Gurukul. That person has very little hair on his head, a long mustache and a long beard. He is the guru of those ten to twelve year old boys. His name is Indra.
There is an iron plate which is fixed on a wall. There is a wooden hammer hanging near it. He hits it hard three times and a loud sound comes out from that plate.
Because of that harsh sound on that sweet morning, all the boys start getting up slowly. Someone is standing outside someone's room and calling him, someone is yawning with his mouth wide open and someone is still sleeping.
_
Outside, the first rays of the sun begin to pierce the darkness of that night and there is a feeling of warmth even in the cool night air. Gradually the entire sky turns yellow and red. The sun, looking like a red ball of fire, starts rising slowly, saying goodbye to the moon and stars. There in that forest, there are trees everywhere, some waterfalls, some rivers and some stones lying here and there.
Their Guru tells them, "Today, like you children, a new boy has joined our Gurukul.
Tell everyone your name."
"My name is Bhairav."
"You all stay with it and keep helping it. Now everyone will do their own exercises to keep their body strong and flexible."
Bhairav thinks in his mind "Would it be right to be friends? Are friends of any use? "Don't let me get into trouble like last time."
There, someone hanging like a monkey, someone pulling his body parts like a lion and someone lifting heavy things like a chimpanzee, all of them are depicted like animals in a zoo. All this is their way of exercising.
Then Bhairav goes to a boy who has dark complexion, thin and tall height.
Bhairav asks him "What is your name?"
"My name is Bodha and yours is Bhairav."
"Yes."
"What time did you come here? I didn't even see you coming."
"I came here at night."
Just then a boy, short in height, with black curly hair and fair complexion, comes towards Bhairav walking on his three hands.
He says "So you're new here?"
Bhairav nods yes and says in surprise, "How come you have three hands?"
"It is from birth and it is like one of my qualities. My name is Vedha and yours".
"My name is Bhairav. Nice to meet you."
There is a group of seven monkeys there. They include "Kelsu, Arun, Milo, Ambu, Henry, David, Ryan". Ambu, the tall and fat boy among them goes to Bhairav. There is a thick earring in her ear which has a red pearl attached to it.
He says to Bhairav, "Hey you small brat, you are new here. What is your name?"
Bhairav says a little arrogantly and angrily, "You big brat, my name is Bhairav and what is your name?"
"You are new here, that is why you are talking so much. My name is ambu and my son, I will keep an eye on you."
Then Vedha Bhairav says softly "He has a group of seven boys. If you listen to me, you should stay away from those boys."
The Bodha says "Leave all this, we started a new exercise yesterday. Let us resume the same exercise today."
"Standing on your head with the help of your hands."
Then both of them start trying to stand on their hands.
Then Bhairav asks them "Can you tell me how you are doing this?"
Then Vedha says, "First of all, stand before a tree. Then put your hands down and place your feet on that tree, then slowly move your feet up until you stand completely upside down."
Then Bhairav goes near a tree and starts doing the same.
There is a group of five boys, Dhruv, Darsh, Veer, Oliver and Viraj. There is a fair boy in that group, small in height and looking strong.
He says "Who is this new boy who has come?"
Then the other boy says, "Dhruv, what do we mean by this? Someone must have come".
Dhruva has a ring on his index finger. The ring has the face of a lion with glowing eyes. He keeps moving that ring with his thumb on his index finger and after thinking for a while he says
"We should mean Viraj. We have to be the best here".
Oliver says "should we also come and talk to him"?
"No, let us start doing our exercise for today."
Then Dhruv climbs a tree. Then he starts hanging on that branch. Then everyone else does the same.
There are five children left who do not have any group. Jack, Anil, Kabir, Karlo, Abhay. They all are doing their own exercises.
Then Bhairav tries to stand on his hands but he is unable to stand. Bhairav is able to stand only for some time.
Just then Ambu makes fun of Bhairav and says "Hey! What happened brother? You are not able to handle your own weight. What do you mean by weak?
From behind, some of his friends also start laughing at Bhairav.
Bhairav says, "I was able to stand for some time, but even if you try, you will get buried under your own stomach."
Hearing Bhairav's words, apart from his group, other boys start laughing at Ambu.
ambu says "He talks too much."
Arun says "We don't do these useless exercises like you. Look, we have quite a few leaves lying around. We pick them up and start our exercise".
Then after some time Bhairav was about to stand on his hands but he was about to fall but suddenly a tall and strong boy whose name is Anil appeared. He catches her and doesn't let her fall. There is a picture of a strange creature on his neck.
He says, "Be careful."
Saying this he walks away. Then after some time Bhairav stands on his hands.
Vedha and Bodha say "Hey! Wow, I learned very quickly".
Then both of them start jumping while standing on their hands. then seeing all this
ambu says, "Look, see how both the monkeys are jumping".
Bhairav says, "Still you cannot compete with the monkeys."
ambu says, "I will have to tell this now."
Dhruv says smilingly, "Bhairav learned very quickly".
Then their Guru ji comes there and he says to all of them, "Sit wherever you are standing and start doing your yogic activities. "Inhale slowly through one nostril and exhale slowly through the other nostril."
Ambu distorts his face and tightens his hands and says, "Survived."
Then after some time their Guruji says, "Now everyone's tiredness has gone away, so now everyone should come into meditation posture."
All the bouncing ocean waves become stable and they all come into meditation posture. Then their teacher says, "All of you pay attention to your breathing."
Then after about two hours of meditation, his Guru ji says, "Now the third practice of all of you is about to begin".
Then John says "Now we have to climb that impossible mountain again".
John's friend Jack says, "Not only do you have to climb, but you also have to carry a bucket in your hand."
Their teacher points towards a tree and says, "After having food, all of you take your buckets from under that tree to the waterfall and then from there reach the bottom of that mountain".
Then they all carry their buckets from under that tree and reach a waterfall.
_
Outside this Gurukul, in a city in another continent, many people are standing at a Kulfi seller's shop. There is a very nice aroma of kulfi. Then there is a person who is wearing a blue shirt. A little bit of kulfi gets on the red jacket of another person. That person starts fighting with the man in the blue shirt. The fight between them starts increasing. Then suddenly the kulfi of that blue shirt man falls on another person standing in the crowd. Then he also joins their fight. Similarly, everyone there starts fighting with each other. Just then a person came there, he was enjoying this view. Then he smiles and goes away.
_
A waterfall which is very beautiful to look at. Every drop of the waterfall steals the sunlight and fills the treasury of the river with its glow. Then some people in white dhoti are bringing the plates full of different items of food in their hands. There everyone sits for food in the cool breeze of the waterfall.
Viraj says to Oliver "Why is that mountain so difficult to climb"?
"There is a lot of harvesting out there it made it difficult to clb so that's why we all are able to climb that mountain together with Guruji.
Veer says, "First of all, the steep cliff there and then the big rocks there block the path".
Dhruv says, "The most dangerous thing is that every leaf there is very smooth. Because of that, slipperiness increases and there are also many dried trees there which are sharp like thorns."
David says "What a man! Every time some new difficult task has to be done".
Arun says "Hey! You leave that mountain and enjoy the food".
A bird comes to Bhairav. Seeing the innocent face of the bird, Bhairav smiles and gives it some of his food. Then it doesn't take long for one bird to become two or two to three birds.
Ambu sits with three to four plates near him. The magician keeps making food disappear from his hands. Seeing his feat, Arun tells him
"Brother, eat a little less otherwise you will have difficulty in climbing so high."
"Hey don't worry, nothing will happen."
Bhairav says to Bodha "Why do you have to do all this? Why do you touch that mountain?
Bodha says, "I like Malai Kopata. What a wonderful creation."
Vedha says, "These are just preparations to make us stronger."
"But why so powerful and what if someone doesn't want to do it?"
"We don't even know about this, but yes, if someone doesn't want to do this, Guruji sends him back to where he came from. Earlier, there used to be many children here, but gradually they all went to the place from where they were brought.
"And which mountain is this?"
Bodha says "You ask too many questions. After some time you can see that mountain yourself".
After having food, they all fill buckets from the river. Then John slightly pushes Bodha and Bodha falls straight into the river.
John laughs and says "Hey! Brother, I'm sorry, I got a slight push ."
Then his friend comes, he laughs and says
"Oho! Brother, what is your fault in this? What to do if people from their group cannot bear their own weight?
Then they all start laughing at those three. Then Bhairav and Vedha start going to wake up Bodha, then Anil comes and picks up Bodha and says
"Society always harasses those who are weak first."
Bodha thanks him and ambu looks at him angrily and says to himself "I don't know what he thinks".
Bhairav says angrily "I feel like beating this Ambu".
Vedha says "Hey! No, we cannot have such a big fight over such a small thing."
_
They all fill their buckets and stand in front of the reality of that terrible dream. That mountain is very high. Dry and some green trees are growing on it. Because of those dry trees it looks quite scary. Their Guruji is also there.
He says to Bodha, "Bodha, how did your clothes get wet?"
Milo says laughingly, "Guruji, Bodha has become very sweaty after seeing this mountain".
"Good! Looks like you know everything. What happened to Bodha?"
"Gurji, my dear friend, there was a slight push while filling water from the milo."
His teacher gets angry at Milo and says, "Milo, don't you know how slippery this mountain is?"
Then he goes near Bodha and starts rubbing his hands vigorously and then touches Bodha's clothes. Bodha's clothes dry within a short time.
He says to all of them "Come, now our journey begins. To reach the top of this mountain, everyone will have to put in all their efforts.
They all start climbing that impossible mountain. After some time there would come a place where they could stop. All of them take a breath of hope and start relieving their fatigue.
Their teacher says "We are just staying here for a while but no one will keep their water bucket on the ground. We will leave after some time".
Bhairav says in his mind "It is good that we are moving forward slowly. All this is becoming very difficult for me".
Milo says, "Brother, control your weight here otherwise you will never get a chance again".
Then they all start laughing. Then Bhairav smiles and says in his mind "And you too".
They all start climbing the mountain again. Bodha, Vedha and Bhairav were walking behind and John and Milo were walking ahead of them. Then after some time suddenly a thread binds the feet of John and Mills and pulls them and they slip and they start going downwards.
All the boys are surprised and turn towards Milo and John to take a look. Arun shouts loudly and says, "Guruji John and Milo have fallen into the ditch".
Then they went through the bushes of falling thorns and reached the place where they had stopped. Then they start falling into a ditch from there too.
