Jason smirked at Sarah, she only glared coldly then closed her eyes.
The next contestants arrived and it was a woman this time.
"I won't judge. But I gotta ask, why are you here?" Jason asked at the girl wearing a blue-green robe as she sauntered into the fray with her black hair flowing like water behind her, her light blue eyes staring at him with provocation.
"Oh she's not for me, she will be my gift to my dear little brother~." The girl, no older than seventeen, said as she dreamily looked into the distance.
'I did say I won't judge… but what a weirdo. That is not normal.'
"Sure, whatever. How do you want me to beat you? I won't punch you in the face at least." Jason cracked his neck as he tilted his head.
"How rude! At least ask me my name, you rogue!" The girl pouted as she stared back at Jason. Who only sighed at her childish behavior.
'I just think she's messing around…'
Jason just stared with annoyance, and the girl glared back.
"If you must know, my name is Mei Huan of The Tranquil Ocean Sect. I see this competition as a test for me, seeing as I am the top disciple there." Mei Huan said as she went into her fighting stance. Her hands outward as she opened her palms against me.
A defensive stance, I'm sure.
"Begin…" the Shadowheart Sect Master said, looking bored from our conversation. I chuckled as I dashed at Mei.
Mei smirked as I punched at her stomach, only for her to guide my blow away from her body.
I looked back to see her smile widen as she saw my bewildered face.
There was some sort of energy…
What did she use?
I accelerated my blows bit by bit, I found her struggling a little. But she returned to her smirk.
'She must've figured out my fighting style…'
"You know what?" I stopped my movement as I looked at her, finding her confused face looking at me with scrutiny.
"Given up already? Ha! I knew you were just a fraud!" Mei smiled, victorious.
"Nah, this is taking too long."
"What do yo-" Mei couldn't finish her sentence as she was encased in ice.
It was instantaneous for her, she could only look at Jason with a horrified expression as the cold ice assaulted her, knocking her unconscious.
"Release her!" An elder from the Tranquil Ocean Sect said, wanting to destroy the barrier around the arena as water energy began coalescing on her palm.
"Relax. She's only unconscious. Here." I made the ice vanish in a instant as it evaporated into nothingness. Mei stood for only a second, only for her to almost fall.
So I caught her of course. Seeing her shiver even when unconscious, I started taking out the remnant ice energy inside her.
Once I was done, I walked leisurely toward the female elder, all the while glaring at me under her veil.
"Here you go." I threw Mei Huan to the elder, who caught her in her embrace. The elder looked at me after checking on her, then she nodded her head as she carried her out of the arena.
"Alright, I guess it's my turn."
A booming sound echoed in the arena behind me. I looked back to see a monstrous youth.
His upper body was naked, muscles bulging as he struck a superhero pose with his fist on the ground. Spider patterns formed on the ground due to the sheer force of his punch.
The man stood at 6.5 feet. His long, dark crimson hair flowed wildly behind him, giving him this brutish look. His skin tone was bronze. The only piece of clothing on him were his loosely fit white pants with a fur of an unknown creature wrapped around him like a belt.
He looked at me with his golden eyes, glaring at me with the eyes of a predator ready to hunt his prey.
I scoffed as I looked at him, his grin widened as hot breath left his mouth.
"Quite an entrance. Not as good as me though. What is your name?" If anything, I felt that this man was worthy of at least knowing his name.
"Haha! My name is of no consequence! I only came here to sate my lust for battle! Couldn't care less about the purpose of this banquet! I just want a good fight!" the barbarian man said with a manic look. And in an instant, in a flash of crimson, he lunged at me with his fists.
I blocked his fist with my palm, but that didn't deter him as his other fist came flying at me. I blocked it with my other fist.
The beast of a man smirked, his feet hit my side, almost making me grunt.
" Excellent! Good! You won't go down with a single kick!" he said with a maniacal smile. I only replied with a kick to his as well.
He winced in agony, grinding his teeth as his eyes widened.
"How was that? Excellent? Good?" I mocked as I felt a few of his ribs crack from my kick.
His crazy smile came back, he jumped, using both of his legs, he used my body as a sling board as he made some distance between us.
Jason didn't flinch, letting him make some distance, a smirk tugging on his lips.
"I see that you're in the golden body realm while being almost sixteen years old. Impressive, really. But not enough to defeat me. Especially since you Spirit Qi cultivation is lacking, being at the beginning of the Core Condensation Realm." Jason said as he crossed his arms.
The man spat some blood, looking at Jason with renewed vigor.
"Who cares about cultivation base! As long as I beat you, I will advance much further in my cultivation! Battle is my sustenance! Blood must flow for me to reach greater heights!" the man bellowed, not wasting time as he dashed with his arms spread.
I… respect that.
I wouldn't mind getting to know the guy, since he is so simple minded, I won't mind befriending him.
This honest personality of his is very hard to come by in this cultivation world.
