Chapter 53 - Chapter 53

I tried to summon my Martial Spirit. But all i can do is summon its hands. The hands were as tall as me. I clenched my fist and it clenched with me at the same time. It was still attributeless. Since it had that phantom visage and its blue color.

No matter. I need to destroy this gate first!

Blow after Blow after Blow! It wouldn't budge! I kept hitting and hitting. I still can't even scratch it!

I kept hitting it! Minutes passed... Hours passed... Days passed... Two weeks of constant hitting with my phantom fists! MY eyes were bloodshot. Blood streaming down my hands. But i won't give up! MY love is in there all alone! How can i leave her like this!

"HAAAAAHHHH!" My strongest attack collided with the stone gate. My phantom fist vanished. My energy reserves were practically empty now...

I walked to the gate. I started hitting it with my bare fist. An hour later and my hands are a mangled mess...

Tears were streaming down my face... I failed her... I failed her...

[Host. You can't destroy this gate with conventional means.]

'Fuck! Tell me the fastest way then! How can i reach that Realm the fastest! Speak!'

[Host. The System doesn't know Why you need to open this secret Realm so urgently. It was sealed for a reason. Nevertheless the System will help you to the best of its abilities. In the memories that you inherited from Shang Xian, I can surmise that this is a Peak Immortal grade formation sealing technique. This gate here is the main Center of the formation. You need to find its four corners scattered across the world. After neutralizing them all you can come back here and unseal it.]

'Good! Good good good! Great! Thats more like it!'

[It will be an ardous task. You might die ate the first corner, Host.]

'So fucking be it then!'

My hands healed in the mean time. Then, I pressed my palm on the gate.

Olivia... Wait for me... Your husband is weak and useless... But i will never give up! Once i get you out of here we'll live forever Together... Soaring in the sky and seeing the stars...

Together...

.

I walked out of the cave with a heavy heart. When i came to i saw a huge forest spanning unto the horizon. Within the horizon i can see the outline of a city. My new destination. I still don't know where that portal spit me out to.

I couldn't brother to run there. I just walked. My aura was unstable. Undulation of my unstable Inner Sea due to forced breakthrough made the waves tumultuous to say the least. I had to stabilize While walking.

My soul sense scanned the sorroundings, seeing that no beast here is a threat to me made me sigh in relief as I kept walking.

Beasts wouldn't approach me. Maybe they're seeing my sad expression and left me be. Or I'm too terrifying for them to approach…

Even though it was morning, the trees were so big and thick that it felt like I'm in the middle of the night. Strolling this Dark forest had a calming effect on me.

Hmmm? I smell blood. Multiple scents. Beasts and one human. Lets check it out.

I followed the stench of blood. The beasts must've been dead not a While ago. But the human smell is still fragrant. Fresh blood.

I found the scene of a Battle. Looks to be Core Condensation Realm beasts. Blue hyenas. Five of them scattered with multiple arrows sticking in their Body, with one between the eye. The finishing blow.

On a tree. I saw a girl clutching her abdomen. Blood seeping between her finger. She is dying...

I neared her and scanned her with Soul and spirit sense. There were multiple fresh slashes all over her body. But she had scars even before that. She looked grotesque even before this situation.

Her teeth was visible from the cut on her jaw. The mask she wore was broken into pieces, the only thing she had to hide her gruesome face mutilations. Her left ear was missing. Her left eye gouged out. Her nose wasn't even spared.

She looked at me with her right brown eye. Not a trace of hope...

I pondered what I should do with her. Scanning her with my soul sense, I found that her core is fractured… she must've overused her energy for this fight. Admirable, but it still wasn't enough…

[Host. You can heal her by turning her into a Vampire. It will heal her fractured core. Just know that she will be dependent on you. Since she will become your thrall.]

My Thrall…

I remember My Jane telling me about this. She said once you turn someone into a Vampire, their loyalty and purpose in life would be serving you eternally…

'Remember, Jason. You can turn anyone into a Vampire, but it isn't a choice many will make. It carries with it a burden and responsibilities. And only turn one into a Vampire when you need a loyal companion. Do turn some for me, would you? I don't want you to be alone…'

Jane imparted those words to me…

It would be unfair to her… wouldn't it? Turning her into a Vampire plagued with the thirst for blood…

[Either that… or death. Your choice, Host.]

I looked at the barely breathing woman. Her eyes already looked to have given up…

I will… at least give her a choice…

I don't want to be alone again…

"Blink once for yes. Blink twice for no. Do you understand?"

She looked up at me. And she blinked once.

"Do you want to live?"

She stared blankly at me. If she had any energy she would've rolled her eyes at me.

I smirked "Do you want to live? This world is an unforgiving place. Filled with tragedy and strife… but it can be better… I'm offering a chance at a new life… but… you and I will be bonded so long as we live… so I ask you again, random huntress I found in the woods."

I picked her chin and looked straight into her only eye.

"Do you want to live?".

A tear fell from her one eye. Then she blinked once.

"Good. Forgive me for what I'm about to do..."
