Chapter 19

Christina POV

Today was like another day. Cold and boring...

Sparring and training with Papa from morning till noon. Then meditation and cultivation till dusk.

Then, I spent the rest of the time with Mama. She taught how to sew, clean, cook. Not something a daughter of nobility is taught, but I liked it. Mama said that a woman should know housework so she can know if a maid or a servant is not doing a good job.

I was walking down the corridor to mama's room. It was her personal room where she cultivates in seclusion. Mother wasn't cultivating as of late. Says she'd rather spend time with me. Come to think of it. Papa and big brother are spending more time with me too. I know I'm lovable and cute but they should focus on their cultivation and training too.

As long as I can spend more time with them then that's good for me tehee~

*BOOM*

"W-w-what was that? Mama! It came from mama's room!" I ran as fast as I could. Mama must be concocting something I'm sure of it!

I peered into the room. I saw my mother in the corner clutching her bloodied arm. A sphere of ice was protecting her from the fire all around her. Infront of her stood five men in blood red armor. Emblem of a firebird on their pauldron.

'Blazing hawk clan? What are they doing here?'

"Surrender and this will be painless. Lady Matilda." a man of a giant stature spoke to my mama.

Mama only glanced at me. She smiled her brightest smile.

She spoke in my mind 'Mama loves you, My beautiful Christina~'

"MAMA NOO-" someone carried me and ran. I looked at him and found him to be my big brother.

"Brother! Why are you running? MAMA is still fighting! We must save her!"

"We can't do anything, Tina. We have to run." Tears were streaming down his cheeks.

"Wh-Where's Papa? What's happening?"

"Father is dead"

nononononooo! No! No! NOOOONOOOONOOOO!

THIS CANT BE HAPPENING! MAMA! PAPA! PLEASE ANYONE HELP! PLEASE!

MC POV

I ran through the strangely dense forest. It was the perfect environment for a stealth mission. I used a stealth technique called (Deceptive Chameleon) where I can blend into my surroundings. When I can be certain that my spirit sense didn't detect anyone, I use my movement technique Grasshopper Leap. With it I scout with my eyes for anything.

When I was 10 km near the castle. I sensed multiple armored cultivators chasing someone. On closer inspection it was Two. Christina must be one of them. I hope.

Kevin POV

Bastards! They are still chasing us! When will this hellish nightmare ever end? Carrying my grief-stricken sister in my arms, I ran and ran.

Shit! We're surrounded!

15 men and women of the Blazing Hawk clan surrounded us from all sides. I guess this is it for me...

"Little Christina. Don't be afraid. Your Big Brother got this" I smiled at her to assure her. She looked up at me. Seeing through my lie.

"Big brother... Please don't leave me..." Christina eyes never dried. Continuous crystal tears flowed down her rosy cheek. I would love to see you grow little Christina. Alas, my time has come...

I put my little sister down. Activated a protective talisman around her. This glass sphere would shield her from the attack of a Martial Spirit Realm expert. Though she can't move until its energy is exhausted. I'll make sure no one is left standing.

MC POV

'System, Scan for hostiles.'

[Total of 15 hostiles. Their Realms are between mid-Inner Sea to peak Inner Sea. 2 non-hostile High Inner Sea Realm expert. The other is a peak Meridian Opening Realm child.]

That's it! That must be Christina!

I ran as fast as I could in their direction.

[Warning! A powerful technique detected! Stay where you are!]

Wha-

A dome of incandescent white enveloped a 5 km radius in the middle of the forest. Once it receded. A world of beautiful white trees and crystal blue herps and plants appeared.

I walked to the Center of the explosion. I saw the 15 cultivators faces contorted in anguish While frozen solid.

At the epicenter. I saw Kevin... He was like a white marble statue. Staring lovingly at Christina.

Christina was sitting staring back at her Big brother. Tears have already dried up. The protective formation around started fizzling out as it ran out of fuel. The cold didn't seem to affect her…

"Christina..." My heart clenched. Seeing her broken and alone... It broke my heart...

Christina was in a world of her own. Staring at her brother unblinking. Damnit... I was too late to save him...

I neared Christina, I made her look at me. Her expression was blank.

"Christina. Listen to me. We need to go, many people are coming here so we should run."

"What's the point anymore... Papa and mama... And now big brother too.... Just let me die here... Let me join them please...." Christina stared back at me. Despair and anguish clearly visible on her face.

"Why did he do this then? Didn't he sacrifice himself for you? Please Christina. Don't let his sacrifice be in vain. I beg of you..."

"I never wanted this! Why do I get to live! Why do I get to suffer! I'm all alone! All alone..." Christina shouted at me.

"I'm with you Christina. Don't you remember that kid? Three years ago, you visited our house. And we promised to be friends. Remember?" I wiped the tears as I made her recall our promise.

I hugged her tightly "I'll always got your back."

She trembled slightly. Then as if a switch was flipped, she fell unconscious.

I gazed at her with pity. So young yet she suffered so much…

I held her tight. Then put her brother's corpse in my ring. Then pocketed the assailants' rings too.

I called Sarah through a Transmission Talisman to rendezvous at the mistress's location.

When we arrived, I found the bodies of her family. Her Father has stabs and slashes all over his Body, he died fighting till his las last breath. Her mother, bloodied, was stabbed through the heart.

"Where's Kevin's Body?" my mistress asked.

"Here..." I summoned his icy corpse from my ring. She thawed his corpse and laid him between them. A warm green glow formed on her hand. Then she restored their bodies to their perfect state. Without their Soul they'll never wake up. A True death…

Then she encased them in a clear coffins. And put them in her ring.

Christina POV

I woke up in a strange room. I looked around me and found and Lady Marigold sitting Beside me.

She smiled warmly at me. Held my hand and said: "I'm sorry for your loss Christina."

Memories of what happened surged back to me. My mother's last smile. My father's last spar. My brother's caring words. All came to me like a flood. And like a flood, my tears wouldn't stop.

She hugged me and I cried even louder and louder. Mama, Papa, Big brother... Please come back...

Please...
