A sharp pain jolted through Rain's legs, pulling him back to reality. It was a sensation he hadn't felt in what seemed like forever. His legs had been lifeless, devoid of any feeling, but now… now there was pain.
"I never thought I'd be so happy to feel something like this."
The ache was intense, but it was a sign. A sign that life was stirring back into his atrophied limbs. His legs, long since numb and wooden, twitched under the stinging sensation. Rain's lips curled into a grin. It hurt, yes. But pain meant hope. His legs weren't dead, after all.
