After
finalizing multiple details with Patty, the Midnight Snack Restaurant and Cold Emerald
Spring finally agreed on a long-term partnership plan. It was the first time that Aiden had
collaborated with such a large company, and he felt a great sense of accomplishment.
D, successful signing of partnership plan. Business management ability, plus one.
Current progress, one out of ten.
Current level, beginner. After saying goodbye to Patty, it was already the afternoon, but
Aiden headed straight to the Bayside District Graduate Recruitment Fair. The Midnight
Snack Restaurant was doing good business.
Yesterday, they had taken close to $10,000, but it had completely exhausted Morris and
Clara. After all, his parents were the only two keeping this busy shop running, and it was
too much for them. Aiden felt that this was his fault.
He hadn't expected the new restaurant to be doing such good business. This morning,
when he had seen his parents' exhausted faces, Aiden's heart ached. He had
immediately gone online and booked a stall at the Recruitment Fair this week in Bayside.
He had some free time this afternoon, so he rushed over there as soon as he could. He
wanted to recruit a few suitable people to relieve the pressure on his parents. Bayside
was located in the south of Arklands City.
The Bayside River was the largest tributary of the Egret River in Arklands. It flowed
through the center of the district after which it was named, splitting it into two, east and
west, and providing water for the entire district. The Recruitment Fair was located in a
square to the north of the river.
At first glance, there were hundreds of stalls in the huge square, each one with its
business name and logo above it. Job seekers were shuttling from one stall to the next,
handing over their resumes. Some looked calm and confident, others nervous and
uneasy.
The square was crowded and tightly packed, the noisy environment overwhelming, even
worse than the farmer's market. He had heard that someone once committed suicide
because he couldn't find a job, jumping into the river. The employment prospects in the
region were bleak, with people fighting fiercely to get a decent job.
Aiden finally squeezed into the Recruitment Fair's management office to find out where
his stall was. As he was so late, the stall with the words, Midnight Snack Restaurant Food
City, on it, was hidden in a corner, hard to notice. As a result, Aiden waited for half an
hour before anyone even came near.
Huh? Are you hiring waiters here? Asked a young girl from the front of the stall. Aiden,
bored out of his mind, looked up and saw a young girl with freckles, about 17 or 18 years
old. She looked at Aiden and a trace of disappointment flashed in her eyes.
Clearly, his youth made him seem less reliable than the adults on the other stalls. Even
so, she still tried to hand over her resume. Hello, I want to apply to be a waitress at your
restaurant, she smiled sweetly.
Aiden took the resume and looked at it. He could not help frowning. It was very short and
not well put together.
There were so many typing errors, and the way the information was presented was
confusing. Obviously, little effort had gone into it. Aiden looked at the Academic
Qualification section and saw College Graduate.
His eyes flashed. Ding, checking talent resume, appraisal ability, plus one. Ding,
activating beginner level appraisal ability, in the process of verifying the authenticity of
the resume, process complete.
Ding, identification complete, target's degree is fake, middle school diploma. Aiden
shook his head and returned the resume to the girl in front of him. I'm sorry, your
academic qualifications don't meet the requirements of this restaurant.
The girl immediately asked anxiously, why not? I have a college degree.
Aiden didn't want to explain too much to this girl, so he said coldly, in
fact, this level of education is not essential. If you had been honest about your
qualifications, I might have considered you.
But now you've tried to hide the truth and faked your academic qualifications. I'm not
employing anyone that is dishonest. The girl panicked.
She didn't know how Aiden could see through her academic qualifications and tell at a
glance that they were false. The freckles on her face stood out in her shame and anger.
Crazy! Waiting staff in a restaurant needing to have a college degree or higher? Only an
idiot would want to do it.
She was so angry that she snatched back her resume. Just as she was about to leave, a
beautiful woman in her early twenties stepped in front of her. She was tall and wore a
white dress with a yellow bag on her right shoulder.
She looked like a beautiful flower. Her hair was arranged elegantly in a chignon, and her
oval face was dusted lightly with makeup. A hint of appreciation flashed across Aiden's
eyes as he looked at her.
What an elegant woman! Hello, I would like to apply to be a waitress in your restaurant.
The woman's voice was crisp and clear. A pleasure to listen to.
Hmph! I wouldn't advise you to apply for this job. They're asking for university
qualifications and above! The freckled girl had not left yet. When she saw that someone
else had come to apply for the job, she was determined to cause trouble and deliberately
tried to put off the beauty in the white dress.
I know. She didn't even look at the freckled girl. Instead, she took out a resume from her bag and handed it respectfully to Aiden.
Please take a look at my resume first. I know it's nothing out of the ordinary, but please
don't count me out. I really want to work for your restaurant.
Aiden carefully looked at the ordinary resume in front of him. Name, Olivia Douglas. Age,
23.
She had just graduated from Westfield University this year. She had been chair of the
Economic Management School Student Council there. During her time in school, she had
received a national scholarship, an enterprise award, an academic scholarship, and
countless other awards.
Aiden was dumbfounded as he looked at the packed resume. If this was ordinary, then
half the recruitment fair would be jumping into the river. Westfield was not an ordinary
university.
It was one of the top three schools in the region. Anyone from the Economic
Management School at Westfield should have big companies lining up to take them. And
now, a beautiful university student from the elite school was standing in front of him,
asking to work at the Midnight Snack Restaurant.
If it wasn't for the system's verification that the resume wasn't fake, Aiden would have
suspected that another liar had appeared. He looked at Olivia as if he wanted to see into
her heart. Let me ask you, with your experience at Westfield, you can clearly find a
better job.
Why do you want to be a waitress at Midnight Snack Restaurant? What? Westfield
University? Before Olivia could reply, the freckled girl beside her exclaimed, Are you
crazy? For her, for a student from Westfield University to apply to be a restaurant waiter
meant that either the student was a lunatic or the entire world had gone crazy.
Olivia smiled. There was wisdom in her eyes as
she spoke frankly.
As a student who graduated in management, I know how much you can learn from the
boss. I'm interested in nighttime catering, and I've heard that your restaurant went from
a small cafe that was about to close down to a sought-after restaurant on East Street.
You've become a tycoon in less than a month.
You're famous across the whole of Bayside because of one type of cake and two cups of
tea, and the entire female community seems to rate you highly. She backed her own
judgment. The Midnight Snack Restaurant would definitely rise rapidly in the future, and
it would do her no harm to be part of it.
If she could learn anything from the sudden success of this business and its management, she would not have wasted her time. Therefore, she was now feeling a
little irritated by the girl's questioning. So what if she became a waitress? She smiled
generously and said confidently, Besides, I don't think it's embarrassing to be a waitress.
There are many things worth learning. Everything has its value. What do you think,
manager? Aiden narrowed his eyes.
He was secretly delighted. She seemed so powerful, this woman called Olivia. He could
feel that if he recruited her, she would definitely be an asset to the management of
Midnight Snack Restaurant.
But first, she had to have a trial period. Aiden smiled and held out his hand. Welcome to
the Midnight Snack Restaurant.
Considering your special qualifications, I'll adjust your salary to $10,000 per month.
There will be performance-related bonuses on top. Olivia was ecstatic.
She excitedly grabbed Aiden's hand and said, I have long heard that the manager of the
Midnight Snack Restaurant is extraordinary. Now that I've met you, I can see that you
really are different. Ding.
Discovering top talent. Eyesight, plus one. Current progress.
