Chapter 44 - 44. Record-Breaking Speed

What was the matter now? Although she was embarrassed and a little angry at this boy

who had caused her embarrassment, she was conscientious and did not shirk her duties.

She came straight to Aiden's side and asked, Is there a problem with the exam paper?

Aiden shook his head and handed her his answers.

No miss, I want to hand my answers in You want to

hand your paper in? The invigilator's mouth immediately opened into a cute O-shape as

she looked at Aiden in a daze. Her hands trembled as she took Aiden's answer paper, but

she saw that it was already covered with dense workings.

The handwriting was neat, without a trace of scribble. She had barely finished giving out

the exam papers, and Aiden had already finished? It had only been three minutes, right?

How was this possible? If it wasn't that she had personally unsealed the exam paper, she

would have suspected that Aiden had completed it at home and brought it with them.

Looking at her dazed appearance, Aiden could not help but ask doubtfully, Am I not

allowed to hand it in before the end? The invigilator smiled ruefully and said, Of course

you can hand it in early, but no one has ever been as fast as this.

I'll just have to discuss it with my colleague. Aiden's speed in finishing had already

broken the record from previous math competitions. She did not dare to make a decision

on her own, so she took the exam papers with her and discussed the matter with the

other invigilator.

They were unable to reach a conclusion, so they had to consult the head examiner. The

head examiner was a dignified and stout middle-aged man. He looked at Aiden's exam

paper with a frown.

After confirming that there was no problem, he could only agree to Aiden handing it in

and leaving. When Aiden left, the entire room was speechless. Looking at Aiden's back

as he walked out, Most of them had just started to think about the first question, but

Aiden had actually finished it? Oh, why am I in the same exam room as this freak? Why

didn't I make friends with him just now and ask for some tips? The boy at number eight,

behind Aiden, was on the verge of collapse.

Kevin's face suddenly darkened. He looked at the exam paper where he had only

answered one question. The veins on his hands stood out, and his eyes were filled with

shock and malice.

It must be because his seat is in front of mine. He got the exam paper first, so he had an

advantage. Kevin had to find an excuse for himself.

After the first round, there would be a half-hour break. The second round would only

start at 10 o'clock. As Aiden had handed in his papers early, he had nearly an hour's

break.

With nothing to do, he strolled around the center, and then wandered out to the sports

field. The playground was filled with teachers from various schools looking eagerly

towards the building. When they saw Aiden walk out of the examination hall, they were

stunned.

Then they shook their heads and laughed. It's probably another examinee who collapsed

from the strain of the exam. It can't be helped.

The questions from the Math Society have become more and more tricky in recent years.

Even I can't answer some of them. Among the group of teachers was Mr. Harvey.

He looked at Aiden in shock and strode forward to meet him, asking in surprise, What

happened? Why did you come out so quickly? Aiden shrugged. I came out when I

finished. The other teachers burst into laughter when they heard this, admiring Aiden's

optimism.

Some of them, who knew Mr. Harvey, said sarcastically, Dennis, this student of yours is

very interesting. An Otis genius! Mr. Harvey's expression turned ugly. Aiden was a

student from whom he had high hopes, but he had come out less than three minutes

after the exam began.

Wasn't this just giving up? Abandoning the exam? Dennis Harvey was extremely

disappointed, and so angry that he turned his head and walked away, ignoring Aiden.

Mr. Harvey was so angry that he could not even

respond to Aiden's words.

Aiden was just happy to have some peace. He sneaked to the tree by the side of the field

and closed his eyes to rest, strengthening his vitality score. Not long after, hearing a

commotion, he opened his eyes and found that Kevin had come out of the examination

hall and was now surrounded by teachers.

The contrast with Aiden's treatment was striking. Kevin, however, paid no attention to

anyone, but pushed through the crowd and walked over to the tree where Aiden was.

There's no room for two people here at the same time, said Aiden, not even opening his

eyes.

Kevin stopped three yards away and asked, were you seriously finished or just writing

random stuff? He waited a long time, but got no response. Just as he was about to ask

again, he heard a gentle but regular snore. Aiden's rude contempt made Kevin's heart

race, his face twisted in anger.

He snorted coldly and waved his hand to leave. No one noticed that he didn't return to

the exam hall. Instead, he turned into a dark corner, where a middle-aged man had been

waiting for some time.

He said to the man with a surly expression, Alan is right. This Aiden's math ability is odd.

When the time comes, I understand.

I promise to complete the mission. The two of them then sneaked away. At 10 o'clock,

the second round of the competition started promptly.

This was a mid-level geometry test and also lasted half an hour. The same invigilator

who had distributed the test papers in the first round was there again. The moment she

finished distributing the test papers, her eyes were fixed on Aiden.

Seeing that he was still answering the questions, she sighed in relief. She didn't need to

worry this time. But her relief was short-lived.

Aiden suddenly raised his hand, giving her a fright. He was rather dissatisfied with his

speed. If it hadn't been for the geometry questions needing so many drawings and

wasting his time, he would have finished long ago.

He waved the paper in his hand and smiled at the two invigilators, who were dazed. I

want to hand my paper in. At this point, Kevin had just solved the second question.

He watched Aiden go as he left the room. Then he smiled maliciously and deliberately

answered the remaining questions incorrectly. The one most upset in the exam hall was

the boy at number eight, who looked at the empty space in front of him almost in tears.

Bro, you always leave so early. Who will help cover me? When he saw that Aiden was the

first to leave the exam room again, the disappointment in Mr. Harvey's eyes turned into

despair. His heart ached, and when he thought about how he had swallowed his pride to

ask the principal for help in fast-tracking Aiden for university applications, he felt a wave

of regret.

If I had known that Aiden would treat the competition like this, I would have given his

spot to someone else. At 11 o'clock, the third round of the competition began. The round

contained only one very difficult and highly complex level question.

It was said that 99% of candidates in the past failed to answer this last question. But

when Aiden saw the question, he was stunned. The eyes of the entire exam room and

those of the two invigilators were all on Aiden.

When they saw his stunned expression, they let out a long sigh of relief. Finally, he won't

be able to polish off all the questions.

But what they

didn't know was that Aiden was able to solve the problem.

In fact, he was really too familiar with this question. Just last week, at the K's house,

Arthur Wiles and Davy had asked him to give them a question, and Aiden had devised

this one. The question was Aiden's own! But how had his question ended up in the
