Chapter 11 - Tim vs his family

"Oh my gosh! Oh my God!" For the last hour, Mrs. Manow has been screaming nonstop. She is furious that Meesha abandoned her project and that she now needs to find a new writer.

Finding a new writer who can produce a flawless novel for publication is beyond Mrs. Manow's means.

Everyone from the office has gathered outside her cabin. They are mocking Mrs. Manow, who treats others as if they were garbage, and she is finally getting her just desserts.

A girl working there asks, "Why is she so angry?"

"Hey, so Tim called yesterday to let us know that Meesha will be taking a temporary leave of absence. Mrs. Manow agreed to his request because she was unable to refuse him, but she now regrets it," the other employee responds.

Kevin, the assistant to Meesha, asks them to split up so they can concentrate on their work rather than wasting time on rumors. He goes into the cabin and gives Mrs. Manow the list of writers she can hire who are presumably good writers.

Mrs. Manow gives Kevin the order to bring Meesha back after tearing up the list.

"You have one week to bring Meesha back or pack your bags as well." With a loud voice, Mrs. Manow yells, "Do not show me your face until YOU BRING HER BAAAACCCCKKK."

Before she can kill him with her insults, Kevin runs outside. Other employees are laughing at him but he feigns a smile and says, "Omo! It is absolutely nothing. I will take care of it."

***********

Meesha slept very little the night before. Tim's information about her and him and their activities over the previous four years has been reviewed by her. In order for her to become her future self, she is expected to learn it by heart.

She needs to finish reading through her diary. However, she is tired and decides to take a short nap. The alarm goes off before it is even six in the morning.

Meesha sees Tim getting ready when she opens her eyes. She recalls that Tim needs to film an advertisement in Phuket.

Meesha sits up in her bed and says, "I am going with you."

Tim tells her to go back to sleep and that she is on her own for these two days.

He glances at Meesha, who does not appear to give up easily. He remains steadfast in his decision despite her glaring look.

She prepares herself so that she will accompany Tim at all costs. She claims she can not even go to work because she can not remember anything, and she has nothing to do at home.

Tim is not in the mood to bring Meesha along, even after being convinced.

Tim feels that something would undoubtedly happen if he brought her along, and he can not afford to deal with Justin, his manager and Meesha at the same time. Justin will not agree, even if he does.

Meesha heads downstairs. She notices mom in the kitchen. She sways in the direction of the kitchen without second thought. She says, "I wonder if I can go to Phuket with Tim, can I?" as she bites into an apple.

Mom appears surprised since she has never before asked her permission to do anything. She never told her if she ever wanted to go somewhere. And the fact that she is now asking for permission indicates that she has truly changed.

"Well, you can if you would like to," mom responds.

"However, Tim is not allowing me to go," pouts Meesha.

Tim's father, seated at the dining table with a newspaper, says, "Who has the nerve to refuse my daughter."

"Your son," counters Meesha. "I told him I had nothing to do at home and needed a change of scenery; he said go to the terrace."

Dad chuckles as he hears Tim's response. Mom motions for Dad to stop laughing while sitting next to him.

The two of them ask, "Then how should we help you."

Meesha snaps in the air and says, "Um, I know."

Dad moves downstairs and murmurs, "Tim is coming."

"Go back to your home if you feel that my son is mistreating you. What are you doing here?"

" By the way, nobody has ever stopped you from doing what you wanted to do. You never listened to us, and now you are criticizing my son."

"Don't you dare to stay in my house; simply pack your bags and leave," yells mom with all her might.

Dad is sitting on the couch, watching the drama unfold. He glances at his son and then back at his wife. Though he is aware that Tim is skilled in handling situations like these, he nevertheless supports her daughter-in-law.

"God, please! How long have I been here? You still do not treat me like family, and you have the audacity to order me. You have no right to tell me to leave because this is my husband's house, and I do not care what you say," Meesha snaps back.

Meesha feels bad about saying all these things to her mother and secretly apologizes to her. Her mother asks her to go on without feeling guilty. They are merely having fun.

"Aha! Tell you what, Tim and I are heading to Phuket today. Thankfully! For the next two days, I can live in peace," Meesha says.

As he watches his family pretend to fight, Tim stands at the top of the stairs. He asks them to drop their act before their play is even half over because he knows his family far too well.

"Take acting classes, please. Nevertheless," Tim claps them on and says, "It was a great performance."

"We were not acting in any way. We really had a heated argument, right, Mom?" Meesha says, clutching her mother's arm.

Dad whispers and asks Meesha to let go or Tim will not believe them.

Realizing Tim's firm face, Meesha swears that she won't cause any trouble there and will act lowkey.

Mom and dad help her persuade Tim. Stunned, Tim realized there was nothing left for him to do.

Tim gives her a glare and says, "But mark my words, I will leave you there if something goes wrong."

Meesha rejoices and leaps onto Tim, thanking him. Dad and Mum say they are here now while covering their eyes. Meesha, though, is not in the mood to let go of Tim.
