The night stretched on, its silence broken only by the occasional crackle of the fire and the distant howls of beasts prowling the dark.
The cave offered little comfort, but it was enough to keep them hidden from prying eyes. Cruzer sat near the fire, his Abyssal Shardblade resting across his knees, its dark energy faintly pulsing as if alive.
Seris leaned against the cave wall, her daggers within easy reach, while Kaela sat cross-legged nearby, her hands resting on her lap as if gathering her thoughts.
"We can't stay here long," Cruzer said, breaking the silence. His voice was low, but firm, a reminder of the ever-present danger. "The fire will draw attention. We move at dawn."
Seris sighed, rubbing her eyes. "Figures. A little sleep would've been nice, but sure, why not keep running?"
