Cruzer's grip tightened on the hilt of the Abyssal Shardblade as he swung the sword through the air, slicing clean through another shadow-being.
His blade hummed with dark energy, sending a pulse through the creature as it dissolved into a swirling mist.
Yet, even as one fell, more appeared from the thickening fog, their hollow eyes fixating on him and his companions.
"They're endless!" the Iron Hawks emissary grunted as he brought his massive hammer crashing down on one of the shadows.
The impact sent a shockwave through the ground, but the shadow simply reformed, its ethereal limbs twisting back into shape.
"They're drawing power from somewhere," Elara called out, her voice sharp but calm as she raised her staff, her fingers weaving intricate patterns in the air.
A pulse of light shot from the tip of her staff, and for a moment, the nearest shadows dissipated before reforming once again.
