Kael's face twisted into a malevolent grin. "Welcome, my fellow adventurers, to the last dance of your lives."

Cruzer's intuation had been right, he had felt something wrong with kaels party timing extend this part with some inner monlogue from cruzer abot his intutiotn , refeence webnovels for this similar situations,

Cruzer's heart pounded as he, Tessa, Reinhardt, and the remaining adventurers from Team C huddled together, surrounded by Kael, his party, and the remaining bandits. The situation seemed grim, and Cruzer's mind raced, trying to find a way out.

Kael's voice boomed through the silence. "Slaughter them all!" he commanded, and his party sprang into action.

The bandits barely had time to react. Kael's blade flashed with deadly precision, slicing through them like paper. His comrades moved with equal lethality, cutting down bandits with ease. The air filled with the sickening sounds of steel meeting flesh and the desperate cries of the dying.

"Ahh!" A bandit screamed as Kael's sword cleaved through his torso, blood spraying in an arc.

"Please, no!" another bandit begged, only to have his plea cut short by a swift decapitation from one of Kael's comrades.

Cruzer watched in horror as the souls of the fallen were drawn toward the barrier, their essence sucked into the dark dome above. The barrier seemed to pulse with power, growing stronger with each soul it consumed.

As the last bandit fell, the battlefield was engulfed in an eerie silence. Only Cruzer, Tessa, Reinhardt, and the remaining adventurers stood, their breathing ragged, hearts racing. Cruzer couldn't help but feel a deep sense of regret. His impulsive decision to attack the bandits had led them to this dire situation. He had learned a harsh lesson, but it seemed too late to change anything now.

Kael turned to face them, his eyes gleaming with a sinister light. "Now, it's your turn," he sneered.

Cruzer's mind raced. He needed a plan, something to give them a fighting chance. But before he could speak, the sound of faint footsteps echoed through the silence.

The footsteps grew louder and louder, and soon, a figure emerged from the shadows. The young man who appeared was a sight to behold. He was tall and lean, his body covered in a combination of human and demonic features.

His skin was a pale, almost translucent white, with intricate black markings running across it. His eyes glowed with an eerie crimson light, and sharp, horn-like protrusions jutted from his forehead. He wore a long, dark cloak that billowed around him, giving him an ethereal, almost otherworldly presence.

Kael and his party immediately bowed down to the newcomer. "Master," Kael intoned with reverence, his earlier bravado replaced by submission.

The young man's eyes scanned the battlefield, his gaze piercing through the remaining adventurers. "You have gathered enough souls to advance to the Advanced Mystic Tier," he said, his voice a chilling blend of human and demonic tones. "I commend you, Kael. Now, I offer you all a choice."

He stepped forward, his presence imposing. "You can serve me and do my bidding. In return, I will let you live. Those who refuse will not be killed outright. Instead, you will be brought back and subjected to a fate worse than death."

Some of the adventurers exchanged hopeful glances, seeing a glimmer of hope in his words. Others hesitated, fear and uncertainty etched on their faces.

Cruzer's panic reached new heights. He knew nothing good would come from following this half-demon. Rejection, however, would lead to something far worse than death. His mind raced, searching furiously for answers, a way out of this dire situation. Then suddenly a hand reached to his shoulders.

He then looked back and realized it was Tessa's hand. He glanced at Tessa, hoping to find some reassurance. To his surprise, she appeared calm, her eyes locked onto the half-demon with a steady gaze. It was as if she had expected this turn of events.

"If you trust me, don't panic. Get ready for the chance.", she whispered in the voice only audible to him.

"Tessa?", Cruzer exclaimed in suprise. As he supsected earlier, Tessa might have really something up her sleeve.

Tessa's eyes flicked to him, and she gave a slight nod. "Trust me," she murmured. "Stay close and be ready."

The half-demon's gaze fell on them, and his lips curled into a dark smile. "It seems we have some defiant souls here. What will it be, adventurers? Will you serve me, or will you face the consequences of defiance?"

Cruzer felt a cold sweat trickle down his spine. His instincts screamed at him to fight, but Tessa's calm demeanor gave him a sliver of hope. He took a deep breath, preparing himself for whatever came next.

The half-demon's eyes gleamed with amusement as he awaited their response, the air thick with tension. Some of the adventurers began to move towards the half-demon, while only Reinhardt, Cruzer, Tessa, and two others, a boy and a girl, remained behind, steeling themselves for the inevitable confrontation.

The half-demon's lips curled into a dark smile as he watched some of the adventurers step forward, their faces a mix of fear and hope. "Ah, wise choices," he said, his voice dripping with malevolence. "Tell me, what are your names?"

One of the adventurers, a burly man with a scar running down his face, stepped forward. "My name is Darius," he said, his voice trembling slightly. "We... we... we pledge ourselves to you, Master."

The half-demon nodded, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "And the rest of you?" he asked, looking at the other adventurers who had stepped forward.

A young woman with fiery red hair stepped forward next. "I'm Liora," she said, her voice steadier than Darius's. "We want to live. We'll do whatever it takes."

The half-demon chuckled softly. "Very good. You have made the right decision. Serve me well, and you will be rewarded."

One of Kael's comrades, a tall, lanky man with a wicked grin, stepped forward and addressed the betraying adventurers. "Welcome to the winning side. Just do as you're told, and you might survive."

Darius and Liora exchanged nervous glances but nodded in agreement. The other adventurers who had moved forward followed suit, their faces etched with resignation.

The half-demon turned his attention back to Cruzer, Tessa, Reinhardt, and the two remaining adventurers. "And what about you? Will you join your comrades and pledge your loyalty to me, or will you choose a fate far worse than death?"
