Cruzer continued his walk towards his master's office in the academy's faculty wing, letting out a faint sigh as Jean's voice finally chimed through the communicator.
Her tone was warm, carrying the easy cheer he had grown accustomed to.
"Well, look who decided to call!" she teased. "What's the occasion, Cruzer? Did you finally manage to conquer that swamp or just miss the sound of my voice?"
A small smirk tugged at his lips. "Both, maybe," he replied, his tone light. "But mostly because I've got news. Big news."
Jean gasped theatrically on the other end. "Don't tell me! You've finally ascended to the status of Intermediate Mystic, haven't you?"
"How do you always know?" Cruzer chuckled, pushing off the pillar and continuing down the hallway.
"I knew you'd pull it off!" Jean laughed, her excitement infectious. "This calls for a celebration. No, scratch that—we need a party! Drinks, food, music—the works!"
