In the city of Wales, 600 years had passed since the last encounter.
It was in this timeless setting that the detective found himself, waiting with growing unease as the minutes ticked by.
Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows, startling the detective. "You startled me," he exclaimed, instinctively stepping back as his heart raced. "I thought you were a ghost."
Why are you so startled? Liam replied as he pulled back his hood, revealing a familiar face.
"I mean, you suddenly came out of nowhere
I have a weak heart,so even the slightest svare gets it racing. Maybe I died after seeing a ghost in my previous life. " He said slightly, his voice barely audible.
Liam nodded, understanding dawning on his face. "That is understandable," he said. "You were at that village, after all."
The detective was the villager Liam's father bribed with alcohol in his previous life, who urged him to run away from the angry villagers.
"By the way, you could have come to the detective agency," the detective said, a touch of reproach in his tone. "Why do we always meet in these spooky places? It's as quiet as a grave."
Liam's response was tinged with a hint of discomfort. "I don't like meeting people. I have a social phobia," he admitted before producing an old, worn photograph and extending it to the detective. "You're looking for a woman and a girl? These are quite old." The detective studied the images.
"They are the same person, please look for her." Liam replied.
His curiosity was piqued. "What? But these are so old. How—" Before he could finish his question, Liam produced a shimmering gold object, cutting him off.
The detective's eyes widened as he hastily collected the precious offering. "She probably hasn't changed," Liam murmured, turning to leave, his head once again obscured by the hood.
Meanwhile, in the bustling school cafeteria, three high school girls of about seventeen years old were enjoying their lunch and chatting animatedly about a popular television dancing show.
Suddenly, one of the girls, Elena, glanced out the window, and her expression shifted to one of unease.
Hey,what's wrong? One of her friends asked.
"That car outside had been following me ever since I left school .
Her friends turned to look, but Elena quickly stopped them.
"No. Don't look. She said swiftly.
Why not? Why is it following you? Her friends asked.
"Beat me.That car followed me all the way here. I even memorize the license plate. It is 3847". Elena replied.
That's pathetic, One of the friends scoffed.
You've been talking nonsense these days. You remind me of your sister. The other friend said and chuckled.
"Hey,I agree that Jean is a bit strange. But I'm not like her. We're totally different. Elena tries to convince them about her twin sister.
"That's true, she was a top student. Unlike you. One of her friends said jokingly.
"Are you kidding me? I can do well if I want to. I just don't "
But is she really not coming back to school? What does she do at home? One of her friends asked curiously.
Elena's expression darkened." I don't know, she stays I'm her room all day long. She doesn't even clean or do the laundry. When my mom's off to work. I have to do everything at home. She's so annoying. "
She took a look at the car outside again and said, " But there's one thing she always tells me." Her friends listened patiently, eager to hear her.
"If a stranger follows you, run away as fast as you can."
The car drove off.
"What? He just left? She said much to Elena's relief
"Seriously, that's so pathetic".One of the friends scoffed.
Realizing it was getting late, Elena gathered her things and set off for home, unaware that the car had not truly departed. As she made her way down the street, the ominous vehicle reappeared, following her every step. Intuition told Elena that danger was lurking, and she quickened her pace, her heart pounding with growing unease.
Elena rushed inside the house, quickly locking the door behind her. Her little sister, Maria, who was about five years old, looked up at her with concern. "Elena, what's wrong?" she asked.
Elena explained to her twin sister Jean how her day had gone terribly. Jean immediately secured the door with a chain and asked, "Was there a strange man?"
"He was tailing me with his car, so I ran away," Elena replied, her voice tinged with fear.
"Did you see his face? What did he look like?" Jean pressed.
"I don't know. He was wearing a hoodie, and it was dark," Elena answered, confusion evident in her expression.
"I told you to always wear a mask outside," Jean scolded.
"It's suffocating," Elena protested.
"Did he see your face?" Jean asked, her brow furrowed.
"Yes, he got out of the car and asked to see my shoulder. He must have been some kind of pervert," Elena said, shuddering.
Suddenly, Jean's expression changed, and she said, "He's here. He's here." Her voice was laced with fear and uncertainty.
At that moment, their mother burst through the door, worried about her children. "I'm home! Sorry for being late. Work ended late," she said, unaware that she had just passed by Liam's car. "Did you have noodles for dinner again?" she asked Maria. "Where are your sisters?"
"They left me here and went somewhere," Maria replied.
Their mother hurried to their room and found it in disarray, indicating that the girls had left in a rush.
Their panic-stricken journey led them onto a bus, covering their eyes with nose masks to avoid being recognized.
On the bus, Elena remained worried about what was happening. "Where are we going?" she asked Jean.
"Orexis knows where we live. We need to go where he can't find us," Jean replied, her voice tense.
"Where is that? And shouldn't we at least tell Mom? She must be worried," Elena said, her brow furrowed.
Suddenly, Elena's expression changed, and she said, "I feel like a cockroach is crawling all over my body. I'm getting goosebumps, and my hands are trembling. Look!"
Jean looked at her sister, fear etching her features. They immediately alighted from the bus, realizing that the driver was an evil spirit. As they ran for their lives, Elena said, "Jean, that bus driver is still following us."
"Don't look at him. Keep walking," Jean replied, her voice firm.
The driver continued to pursue them, but Jean suddenly stopped and pulled out a knife, ready to defend them. "Stop following us," she said, her eyes narrowed.
"I think I know her," the driver said, pointing to Elena.
"Keep following, and I will kill you," Jean threatened.
The driver roughly pushed Jean aside and approached Elena. "The smell of your soul, who are you?" he asked, peering into her eyes.
"Sir, why are you doing this? Go away!" Elena cried, her voice trembling.
Jean stood up and thrust her knife into the driver's neck, causing him to surrender. Just then, a group of men arrived at the scene, having been searching for the driver.
"What's going on? What are you doing? Stop it?" They said.
"Heyy! Let me go!" He said.
"Get a grip! Get a hold of yourself!" As the commotion unfolded, the twins found their way to a building well known to Jean.
