Chapter 12 - Chapter:12

When Lufil woke in the afternoon, the first thing that hit him was the stench. The remnants of his battle with the rabbits and the night's sweat made him wrinkle his nose in disgust.

"Ugh, I really need a bath," he muttered, sitting up and stretching. As he did, his stomach growled loudly. "But maybe food first. Let's deal with these rabbits."

With the System's guidance, he gathered the remaining rabbit carcasses. Using a few makeshift tools and some rocks, he managed to create a rudimentary fire pit. The System showed him how to skewer the rabbits properly and evenly cook them over the fire.

As the smell of roasting meat filled the air, Lufil's mouth watered. He sat back, watching the rabbits cook, and couldn't help but feel a bit proud of himself. Despite the overwhelming odds, he had survived the night.

When the meat was finally ready, he tore into it ravenously. The taste was surprisingly good, and he found himself enjoying the simple meal. As he ate, he spoke to the System.

"System, show me my stats. I want to see how much I've grown after last night."

The familiar interface appeared before his eyes, displaying his current stats and the points he had accumulated.

Lufil examined the display, feeling a sense of satisfaction. "Not bad for my first day. Those rabbits really gave me a boost."

"You've done well, Lufil," the System said. "The stat points can be distributed to improve your physical or mental abilities. The system points can be used for special skills or enhancements."

Lufil considered his options as he chewed on a piece of rabbit meat. "I think I should balance things out a bit. Let's put one point into Strength, one into Endurance, and one into Agility."

"Confirmed," the System replied. The interface updated, showing the new distribution of points.

"Feeling stronger already," Lufil said with a grin. "Now, about those system points. What can I get with them?"

The System brought up a new interface, displaying various options.

Lufil scanned the list. "Hmm, I think Basic Healing Spell would be really useful, especially if I get injured again. Let's spend both points on that."

"Confirmed," the System said. The interface updated, showing that he had learned the Basic Healing Spell.

Lufil felt a warmth in his hands, a new sensation that told him the spell was ready to be used. "This is going to come in handy," he thought, satisfied with his choices.

After finishing his meal, he felt rejuvenated and ready for the day. "Alright, System, let's find a suitable place to build a shelter. I need somewhere safe to sleep and store my stuff."

"Agreed," the System responded. "There's a clearing not far from here that would be ideal. It has access to fresh water and is relatively easy to defend."

Lufil stood up, brushing the dirt off his clothes. "Lead the way, System. Let's make this place livable."

As he walked through the forest, guided by the System, he couldn't help but feel a sense of purpose. Despite his initial reluctance, he was starting to see the potential in this new world. It was challenging, yes, but also filled with opportunities for growth and adventure.

And as long as he had the System by his side, he felt ready to face whatever came his way.

As Lufil reached the clearing, he paused to take in the surroundings. The area was spacious and bathed in sunlight, with a gentle stream flowing nearby. Tall trees provided shade and shelter, and the ground was relatively flat, perfect for building a home.

"This looks perfect," Lufil said, a hint of excitement in his voice. "Good call, System."

"Thank you, Lufil," the System replied warmly. "This location offers both safety and resources. We should start building a basic wooden house with some furniture. It will provide shelter and comfort, and we can upgrade it later."

Lufil nodded, feeling a mix of determination and anticipation. "Alright, let's get to work. Where do we start?"

"The first step is to gather materials," the System instructed. "You'll need wood, leaves, and stones for the foundation and structure. Once you have enough, we can begin constructing the house."

Lufil set to work, using his bare hands to gather the necessary materials. The process was labor-intensive, and he soon found himself sweating under the midday sun. Despite the physical exertion, he felt a sense of accomplishment with each piece of wood he collected.

After gathering a sufficient amount of materials, Lufil returned to the clearing and began building. With the System's guidance, he laid down a sturdy foundation using large stones and wooden logs. Next, he erected the walls, carefully fitting each piece of wood together to create a solid structure.

As he worked, the System provided helpful tips and encouragement. "You're doing well, Lufil. Make sure to leave space for windows and a door. Ventilation and light are important."

"Got it," Lufil replied, feeling a surge of pride at his progress. "This is actually starting to look like a house."

By the time he finished the basic structure, the sun was beginning to set. Lufil wiped the sweat from his brow and took a step back to admire his handiwork. The house was small but sturdy, with four walls, a roof made of leaves, and openings for windows and a door.

"Not bad for a day's work," Lufil said, a smile spreading across his face. "Thanks for the guidance, System."

"You're welcome, Lufil," the System responded. "This is a great start. You'll be much safer and more comfortable here. Now, let's furnish the interior. You'll need a bed, a table, and some storage."

Lufil nodded and set about creating the basic furniture. He used more wood and leaves to fashion a simple bed, a table, and a few shelves. The process was challenging, but he felt a growing sense of satisfaction with each completed piece.

As he placed the last shelf against the wall, he let out a sigh of relief. "There, it's done. A cozy little home in the middle of the forest."

"Well done, Lufil," the System said. "This is a significant achievement. You've created a safe haven for yourself."

Lufil sat down on the edge of his makeshift bed, feeling a wave of exhaustion wash over him. "Yeah, but I'm beat. Building a house is hard work."

"It is, but you've done an excellent job," the System replied. "Now you can rest and recharge for the next day."

Lufil lay back on the bed, staring up at the wooden ceiling. Despite the discomfort of the hard surface, he felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. "You know, System, I wasn't sure about this whole adventure thing at first, but... I'm starting to see the appeal."

"That's good to hear, Lufil," the System said warmly. "This world has much to offer, and you've already taken the first steps towards making it your own."

Lufil closed his eyes, a contented smile on his face. "Thanks, System. I couldn't have done it without you."

As he drifted off to sleep, he felt a sense of hope and determination. The challenges of the day had been tough, but he had faced them head-on and come out stronger. With the System by his side, he was ready to take on whatever the next day would bring.
