Chapter 7 - The Mystery of Devil Fruits

The group's curiosity was piqued.

Rosalie Xander: Devil fruits?

John Derk: Aren't those just myths? Are you sure you haven't been scammed?

Ethan Cross: Oh, they're real. The only reason most people think they're myths is because the World Government wants it that way. Knowledge is power, after all.

He began his explanation.

Ethan Cross: A devil fruit is a strange, almost comical-looking fruit with unique patterns. When consumed, it grants the eater specific superpowers based on its type.

Each devil fruit is unique—no two grant identical abilities. However, they come with a significant drawback: once you consume a devil fruit, you lose the ability to swim. If over 50% of your body is submerged in undistilled water, you'll become weak and likely drown.

There are three categories of devil fruits:

Zoan: Allows the user to transform into an animal or animal-human hybrid. This form greatly enhances physical strength, defense, and regeneration.

Logia: Grants the user control over and transformation into an element, rendering them invulnerable to most physical attacks unless countered by their element's natural weakness.

Paramecia: Provides unique abilities that can vary widely, from manipulating substances to altering physical properties.

Ethan Cross: Each category offers incredible power, but they come with limitations. You can only eat one devil fruit. Trying to consume a second will cause your body to explode.

Rosalie Xander: That's fascinating. But how does knowing about devil fruits help us now?

Ethan Cross: It doesn't help us immediately. But when the time comes to search for them, this knowledge will be invaluable. Right now, our priority is physical training.

Hank Xander: Why is training so urgent?

Ethan Cross: You'll understand soon enough. For now, trust me.

The group nodded in agreement, their resolve strengthening as they prepared to face the challenges ahead.
