As Jake leaped from rooftop to rooftop, Sujin followed behind him.
Jake: Why are you following me?
Sujin: For fun.
Jake: What do you mean, fun?
Sujin: How should I explain... Ahm, it's just that you seem different from how I used to remember you. You don't even behave like yourself now.
Jake (thought): He's onto me...
Jake: People can change. It's normal.
Sujin: I guess you're right.
Jake: So now that you got your answers, can you stop following me?
Sujin: Nope, I'd like to go with you.
Jake (thought): He's fucking stubborn. Argh!
Sujin: Besides, I wanna fight you again!
Jake suddenly stopped jumping and searched his memories more clearly.
Jake (thought): Argh! These cringey lines in my memories are making me cringe. Oh wait, what is this?
Something was approaching them at a rapid speed.
Jake: The fuck is that thing?
Jake turned around and saw Sujin breaking down, tears forming in his eyes. Sujin became restless and pulled his hair while gritting his teeth. Anger was evident in his eyes.
Ten years ago, a whole village was wiped out in a single night, leaving only one survivor, and it was Sujin. That horrifying night was called "Devil's Night."
Around ten years ago, a village named Gwanji used to exist. Villagers lived in peace and trained to become renowned martial artists. Every day, people woke up, trained, enjoyed, and slept. Everyone thought that day would be no different...
(Devil's Night)
Sujin (young): Argh! That was a good sleep.
After waking up, Sujin walked towards his sister's room and woke her up as well.
Sujin: Oi, brat, wake up.
Mira: Wahh! Let me sleep some more.
Sujin: Nope, can't let that happen.
Sujin then carried her out of the bed.
Mira: Can't even sleep properly!
Mira grumbled angrily, then got ready and waited for her breakfast. Sujin entered the kitchen and cooked her some good food. After making Mira her breakfast, Sujin sat down with her at the small wooden table.
Sujin: Eat up, brat. We've got a big day ahead.
Mira: What are we doing today?
Sujin: Training, of course. Master Lee said we need to be ready for the tournament next month.
Mira: Ugh, more training...
Sujin: Hey, the only way to get stronger is to keep at it.
Mira: Fine...
They both ate in silence, the usual morning noises of the village filtering through the open window. The sounds of people greeting each other, the clanging of swords, and the laughter of children playing.
Sujin: Alright, let's get moving. We don't want to be late.
They left the house and headed towards the training grounds. The village was alive with activity. People were busy with their daily routines.
Master Lee: Ah, Sujin, Mira. Good to see you both.
Sujin: Morning, Master.
Master Lee: Ready for some intense training today?
Sujin: Always.
The training session was intense, but it was something Sujin and Mira were used to. Hours passed by, and the sun began to set.
Master Lee: That's enough for today. You both did well.
Sujin: Thanks, Master.
Mira: I'm exhausted...
Sujin: Let's head home and get some rest.
They walked back to their house, the sky turning a deep shade of orange as the sun dipped below the horizon.
Sujin: You did good today, Mira.
Mira: Thanks, Sujin.
As night fell, an eerie silence settled over the village. Sujin and Mira were about to go to bed when they heard a distant scream.
Sujin: What was that?
Mira: I don't know... Should we check it out?
Sujin: Stay here. I'll go see what's going on.
Sujin stepped out into the darkness, his heart pounding. The village was eerily quiet, and he could feel a sense of dread building within him.
Sujin (thought): Something's not right...
As he made his way towards the center of the village, he saw flames in the distance. Panic set in as he started to run. When he reached the center, he saw a strange creature.
That strange creature had a body of a human with a goat's head. His eyes glowed red in the dark.
Baphomet: I can never get enough of this taste!
Baphomet muttered while eating a human. Then Baphomet heard a small child crying.
Baphomet: Oh, tender flesh! Haven't had that in ages.
That strange goat-like creature made his way towards the noise, throwing away all rubble in his path. Soon, Baphomet reached the room and stared at the crying baby.
Baphomet: I wonder how tasty you would be!
As Baphomet was about to grab the baby boy, suddenly Sujin appeared and snatched the baby in front of him.
Baphomet: Who do we have here? A hero?
Sujin ran after immediately snatching the baby, but he was simply no match for Baphomet's speed. Baphomet grabbed Sujin's legs and pulled him towards him.
Baphomet: You are entertaining, but it's unfortunate that I'm currently not in the mood for it.
Sujin screamed in pain as his legs were being squashed. Suddenly, the windows broke and multiple shadowy figures surrounded him, but he wasn't nervous in the slightest.
Baphomet: Are you here to catch me? That's fun. Let it begin.
Taking the chance of the conflict, Sujin made a run for it and made his way towards his home. As he was about to open the door of his home, he heard a sinister voice from behind him.
Baphomet: Are you perhaps trying to look for something?
Sujin's blood ran cold. He could barely breathe as he watched Baphomet drag the lifeless bodies, their heads hanging limply. The sinister creature's eyes glowed with twisted delight.
Baphomet (smirking): You see, boy, you can't escape me. No one can.
Sujin (shouting): Mira! Get out of here!
Mira peeked through the window, her eyes wide with fear. She quickly realized the danger and darted out the back door.
Baphomet (mocking): Oh, how touching. A brother trying to save his sister. How quaint.
Sujin didn't waste another second. He turned and ran after Mira, his legs aching from the earlier encounter. They needed to hide, to find somewhere safe.
Mira (whispering): Sujin, what's happening?
Sujin (panting): We need to get to the forest. It's our only chance.
They ran through the village, the chaos around them almost surreal. Flames licked the rooftops, and the screams of their friends and neighbors filled the air. It felt like a nightmare, but Sujin knew it was all too real.
They reached the edge of the village and plunged into the forest. The trees provided some cover, but Sujin knew it wouldn't be enough. They had to keep moving.
Sujin (gasping): Keep running, Mira. We have to keep going.
Mira (sobbing): I'm scared, Sujin.
Sujin (determined): I know. But I'll protect you. I promise.
The forest was dark and dense, the branches clawing at them as they ran. Sujin's mind raced, trying to come up with a plan. They needed to find a place to hide, a place where Baphomet wouldn't find them.
Suddenly, they stumbled upon a cave hidden behind thick bushes. It was small, but it might just be their salvation.
Sujin (whispering): In here. Quickly.
As they entered the cave, they saw two blood-red eyes glowing in the dark. Suddenly, the mysterious figure got up, his body filled with blood, his body reeking of bloodshed. As moonlight fell on his body, his figure became visible. He had the head of a goat and the body of a human.
Sujin (panicking): How can you be here! Mira, don't come here, run away!
Baphomet: Calm down, boy. If I wanted to kill you, I would have done that by now.
Baphomet then flicked his fingers, and the entrance of the cave closed. Baphomet looked him in his eyes, staring directly at his soul.
Baphomet: I can spare you and your precious little sister if you agree to this deal.
Sujin: What's the deal?
Baphomet: It's simple. Just give me your body.
Sujin: What preposterous thing are you saying, you damned creature.
Baphomet (grinning): Oh, it's quite straightforward. I take over your body, and in return, I let you and your sister live. You'll be free to go.
Sujin (desperate): And what happens to me if you take my body?
Baphomet (casually): Your soul will be trapped, but you'll still be conscious. You'll watch everything through your own eyes, unable to do anything.
Sujin (shaking): I can't… What if you don't keep your promise?
