Justice Arkan's declaration struck like a hammer. Conrad could hardly breathe, the world around him seemed to close in as the gravity of his predicament sank in.

Connie stammered and his eyes widened in disbelief.
Murder? Imprisonment? State Clear Custody? What was the Justice talking about?
They wanted to send him to prison for carrying out orders?
Connie's gaze darted around the room, everyone was looking at him with indifferent eyes, save for Seraphine, who seemed to be a bit sorrowful toward him.
When his gaze landed on Lysandra, he grimaced. Her face had remained cold and composed as if she had no part in this matter.

Connie asked the woman who didn't even bother to look in his direction.
