"W-what did you just say?"
Conrad stammered, staring at the figure sitting on his bed, a twisted mirror version of himself. His fists clenched tightly as he jolted to his feet and took a battle stance, his brown eyes locked onto the smirking man.
The figure just watched in silence, not even bothering to answer his question.
"Who are you?!"
He shouted, hoping an aggressive tone might make the man take him seriously. But it had the opposite effect.
Instead of answering Connie's second question, the figure burst into hysterical laughter, doubling over as if Connie had just told him a funny joke.
A few seconds ago, it had been a shadowy monster with burning eyes but now, it took on Connie's entire appearance. And now, he was listening to a janky version of his laughter which made him wonder if that's how he sounded whenever he laughed.
The sight made his skin crawl, his body tensed even more.
