"No…"
She whispered as her heart sank into the pit of her stomach.
When she turned her head, she saw how the panicked crowd had pushed, shoved and screamed at each other as they tried to flee from the imagined danger.
—It was to be expected really.
Apart from the gunshot, they had just seen a building that was on fire a few moments ago, shatter and from it, writhing giant tentacles busted out. The very scene itself looked like something out of a movie. Hard to believe even.
So, of course a natural reaction was expected from them
—Pure unthinkable fear.
They must have assumed that it was a monster coming out to get them, thus allowed their fear to consume them.
And so, they had descended into chaos. It was ridiculous, instead of being curious how had a giant octopus or squid made it to mainland they chose to cower in fear.
