Conrad closed the door to Lysandra's office behind him with a faint click. He sighed while rubbing the back of his head. After the mess that happened with Mae, being asked to leave wasn't surprising, but it still gnawed at him.
That was a new side he had ever seen of Mae, he couldn't tell whether that was her Ability's influence or that was just how she actually was, sadistic. Either one of them sent a chill down his spine.
The question now was what they were going to do with the captive—Silas. Killing him was the first choice that came to his mind.
Sardes was an organization of highly skilled killers, so that wasn't out of the question. Lysandra made it clear that he was useless to them now.
