Conrad sat slouched alone on a bench in the park.
Normally when he came here, it was to exercise but now, even though he wore his workout gear, that was the last thing on his mind.
He watched the shadows on the ground stretch out before him with a tired expression. By then, it was already dusk, and he came here in the morning to attempt his daily workout, but he didn't feel like it. He felt sluggish and ended up wasting hours sitting on that bench.
Hunger and thirst had been gnawing at him the whole time, but he didn't feel like eating or drinking either, so he just bared with the grumbling noises of his stomach and the dryness of his mouth.
Good thing today he was given a day off since he wasn't being productive at work.
That was because Connie wasn't in the right state of mind. The fading warmth of the day did very little to comfort him against the cold air of the night that was slowly settling in.
