Madam Emily had thrown a party to celebrate the opening of another Windsor business. Lady Victoria, one of Lord Daemon's former lovers couldn't help but show her hatred toward Lady Eleanor. She spoke to Lady Eleanor with so much disregard.
"My lord Daemon always had a special interest in charity. You must be in one of those cases. I never imagined he would end up with one of you. How did you do it?" Asked Lady Victoria.
"A diamond cannot be found in the same place with rubber. Diamonds are quite valuable unlike rubbers. Charity is better than a brothel. Don't you agree lady Victoria? Excuse me, i need to be with my husband." Said Lady Eleanor, leaving Lady Victoria completely speechless and infuriated.
Lord Daemon took Lady Eleanor the garden within the Estate but far from everyone. As they walked hand in hand, the darkness seemed to dissolve the boundaries between them. Lady Eleanor couldn't help but give him a soul piercing gaze. Their footsteps slowed and they found themselves beneath an oak tree.
Without a word, Lord Daemon turned to Lady Eleanor locking eyes with her. The air was immediately charged with tension, it gave Lady Eleanor the excitement of the unknown. Slowly, Lord Daemon drew her closer to himself, kissed her forehead and gave her a tight hug.
As he embraced her, the night seemed to whisper secrets in their ears, urging them on to lock lips but Lady Eleanor seemed guarded and was struggling to give in. Lady Eleanor wanted all of him but she was unsure of his true intentions.
"My lady," Lord Daemon finally said with a low and husky voice.
"There is something i need to tell you. Something i should have told you months ago or even the first time i felt your touch. It was quite magical.
"What is it?" Lady Eleanor asked nervously and was unable to maintain eye contact with Lord Daemon.
"It's quite a strange thing, i have never felt this way before. The first time we met, i preferred the sheep but ever since you tended to my neck, i have craved for your touch even more. I am a lady's man, women always come to me but then you came into my life in such an unpleasant way, we said our wedding vows with so much disdain for each other. At first i thought it was a sickness, i didn't like this feeling at all. I always feel the urge to buy you flowers, take care of you. Protect you, shower you with affection but how could this possibly be? I don't know what you did to me but i quite like it."
He said with a smile on his face. "Daemon, i think we should go back to the party, mother would be looking for us." Lady Eleanor said while trying to walk away but Lord Daemon held her hand and pulled her close to him, locking eyes with her.
"You already know what I'm trying to say to you, don't you? Is that why you are trying to avoid this conversation?" Lord Daemon asks.
"No, my Lord, i just feel every one is looking for us, we have been missing from the party for quite a while, our mothers will be worried." She responds.
"Then why don't you want to look at me? Look at me and tell me you do not have any special feelings for me. You often never call me "My Lord" and tonight, right now, you are not simply calling me by my name." He said while he loosened his grip on her.
"I didn't understand my feelings for you, i picked interest in the books you read, i picked interest in your hobbies, your activities and everything you loved to do. What more can i say? Which other way can i possibly prove to you that i am in love with you." He continues, looking at her while she looks speechless.
He moved close to her, held her face locking eyes with her and said
"Lady Eleanor Tulip Windsor, Lord Daemon Windsor is in love with you." Lady Eleanor stood still and speechless while looking into his eyes and she could see he was telling the truth; Lord Daemon had indeed fallen in love with her.
All these while she thought she was hallucinating, she thought he was incapable of love but tonight, he was standing before her professing his undying love for her but she was speechless. Every time she opened her mouth to speak, words couldn't come out. Her silence was a confirmation of her love for Lord Daemon.
"I wish to kiss you?" He said, his heart racing with anticipation. But he couldn't wait for her response, his lips crashed into hers with passion. As their lips met, the world exploded with the fireworks of their desire with a dazzling display.
They wrapped their arms around each other, holding tight as their lips moved in perfect sync, their hearts beating as one as they surrendered to each other. That night, their bodies entwined and their love for each other radiated from every touch. Lord Daemon started off by kissing Eleanor's back all the way up to her lips.
He carried her in his arms and placed her on the bed. Every touch was a whispered promise, every kiss was a vow of devotion, it was a rhythm that echoed through the night. In their sacred space, their union was a dance of tender abandon, a sweet surrender to each other's embrace.
As they made love, it was a moment of pure connection, a union of body and soul that spoke to the very essence of their being. They were so drunk in love that they didn't realize it was morning. They haven't had a single moment of sleep, they have been lost in each other's eyes and embraced all night long and they didn't want to let go.
"We need to go down for breakfast before our mother sends someone to us." Eleanor said with barely a whisper.
"You couldn't speak at all last night, all i heard was your moan but now you can talk?" responded Lord Daemon while holding her close to himself.
"So, what if my mother sends someone here? I would much rather have you for breakfast, lunch and dinner" he continues while she blushes with a big smile.
Lady Eleanor became happier, she had gotten the love she desired in the very place she thought it wouldn't be possible, the very home she thought she would suffer had become her most priced possessions. Her husband, her first love was always with her and just like in her books, he loved her and treated her like a queen.
He treated her so well that folks thought she had cast a spell on him but Lady Eleanor wasn't known for black magic. She was grateful to her mother and for all the circumstances that led her to this point. Her heart was filled with joy and gratitude.
3years later:
"What is this?" Lord Daemon asks, holding a herbal douche. Lady Eleanor's eyes widened in shock as she glanced upon the herbal douche in Lord Daemon's hands. Her voice trembled with a mix of surprise as she asked
"What on earth are you doing with that? Have been looking through my things?"
"I have been wondering why you have been unable to bear a child and every day, I have blamed myself, but little did I know, you have been avoiding conception. Eleanor, look at me, I'm talking to you!" Lord Daemon thundered with authority and demand.
"Tell me, why did you do this? Have I not been a good husband? Do I not deserve an heir? Answer me!" He demands while walking towards her aggressively.
Lady Eleanor sits on the stool facing the mirror and with a calm tone, she responds
"My Lord, I am not ready to have a child, I do not think this is the right time. I know I should have told you but you would never have agreed to this." Lord Daemon's stare burned with anger as he accused,
"You're refusing to bear a child because it would interfere with your illicit affair! I know it's Richard – it has to be! You think I'm blind to your deception? Your duty to this family, to me, means nothing to you!". Lady Eleanor rose to her feet with astonishment.
"How dare you accuse me of such a thing?" She exclaimed, her voice trembling with sadness and outrage.
"You question my character, my honor? I never desired this marriage, it was a duty assigned to me by my family, and it will always be duty to you, nothing more." Lord Daemon took Lady Eleanor's hand with a tight grip as he dragged her to Madam Emily's table, where she was enjoying a leisurely brunch with her friends.
"What is this my son? Lover's quarrel?" Madam Emily asked with concern. Lord Daemon's face twisted in disgust as he declared,
"I wish to end this marriage. This woman is a disgrace, a stain on the Windsor family's honor!" Lady Eleanor's eyes welled up with tears, her face became a picture of heartbreak and shock. Madam Emily, meanwhile, looked on in confusion, her glance darting to her friends before returning to the scene unfolding before her.
"Send her back to her mother at once." He commanded with a dismissive voice.
"I will not discuss this further." With that, he turned on his heel and stormed off, leaving the assembled company in stormed silence. Madam Emily approached Lord Daemon in the horse stead, where he was shoveling gravel with intensity.
"Daemon, stop!" she said firmly.
"Do you realize what you are doing? You're willing to abandon your duty and end this marriage. What could possibly justify such a drastic decision?" Lord Daemon turned to her face with an unyielding expression.
"That woman is immoral, a sin, mother. She committed an abomination. I cannot be married to her. If you want an heir, wed me to another". Madam Emily's eyes flashed with shock.
"You will not discard Eleanor like one of your whores, Daemon. If you end this marriage, I swear to you, you will also have to send my dead body with Eleanor to her mother". Lord Daemon took a step back, visibly shaken.
"Mother, don't say such things. You cannot choose this…this symbol of duty over your own son, your only son, your blood." Madam Emily's expression hardened, and she reached out to cradle her son's face in her hands.
"Oh, Daemon, it was duty that brought you two together, but I am not blind, I have seen the love you have for each other, and Eleanor has brought life to this family. I want that love to flourish, sort your differences with Eleanor and do it now." Lady Eleanor and Lord Daemon lived like strangers under the same roof, in the same room for six seasons.
Lord Daemon hardened his heart and took Lady Victoria as his mistress. Lady Eleanor was heartbroken, and yet unfazed by his habits. She continues with her pursuit for knowledge, reading her books and finding new interesting habits to keep her mind occupied.
Lady Eleanor's heart once excited at the prospect of love, but now duty has become a relentless cycle of sorrow. The very thing she once desired – love, has become the source of her torment. Can Lady Eleanor find a way to salvage her marriage, or is it doomed to wither away?
Lord Daemon's silence is a constant reminder of her pain. His eyes only looked at her with disdain instead of passion.
The distance between them grew each passing day, and their love became nothing more than a distant memory to Lady Eleanor. Can Lady Eleanor bridge the gap, or will Lord Daemon choose Lady Victoria over her now that she is with child?
