Gone?!

Amorsta stared in shock at the spot where the black witch had stood, his expression a mix of astonishment and confusion.

Apparition or Portkey?

The thought flashed through Amorsta's mind but was quickly dismissed.

It was well-known that the Hogwarts grounds were protected by powerful enchantments, making common wizarding methods of instant travel ineffective. The magical defences of the school drew their power from the immense accumulated magic of the Hogwarts castle over centuries—a power on an entirely different level. Even if the Four Founders were to return, they would likely be unable to break through the defences they had originally set.

Yet, the reality was that the mysterious black witch had vanished the moment Amorsta's Sectumsempra curse struck, leaving only a spiteful glare before disappearing into thin air.

Amorsta, bewildered, scanned the surroundings for any clues, but the black witch was indeed gone—not just hidden.

How was this possible? Although they were in the Forbidden Forest, they hadn't breached the barrier set within it by Hogwarts. Theoretically, they were still within the school grounds.

Amorsta no longer focused on suppressing the lingering Fiendfyre. He cautiously approached the spot where the black witch had last stood.

His Sectumsempra curse hadn't been completely ineffective; a pool of crimson blood lay on the ground, presumably left by the black witch.

Footsteps approached in the distance—the professors were finally arriving. Amorsta stared at the blood, which had yet to soak into the earth, feeling deeply unsatisfied.

A powerful witch harbouring such hatred for him was lurking in the shadows, and he had no idea who she was. This left Amorsta with a burning sense of frustration.

"You left a clue," he muttered. Before Professor McGonagall and Professor Snape arrived, he took out a small vial and guided the blood into it with his wand, then cast a freezing charm on it.

"I will find you."

Professor Snape and Professor McGonagall were not the first to arrive at the scene—Dumbledore beat them to it.

In the air, thick with the scent of burning and smoke, a burst of brilliant red flames appeared suddenly. Albus Dumbledore, clutching his phoenix's talons, materialized in mid-air and then landed gracefully, displaying an agility that belied his age.

Once on the ground, Dumbledore quickly took in the scene. He saw Amorsta standing amid scorched earth, looking astonished at his sudden appearance. He also noticed the unconscious Gryffindor team members and Bill Weasley still suspended in the air. Behind his half-moon spectacles, Dumbledore's piercing blue eyes flashed with intense anger.

In the unseen realm, Dumbledore's rage felt like a black hole with immense gravitational pull. His arrival caused the magical energy around him to surge and roar like a tidal wave under a full moon.

The first thing Dumbledore did was extinguish the Fiendfyre that Amorsta hadn't fully suppressed. With a simple wave of his wand, the pale Fiendfyre and Amorsta's golden flames vanished instantly.

"Hand over your wand, Mr. Blaine."

Dumbledore's tone was calm yet filled with an undeniable authority.

Amorsta hesitated to surrender his wand. He could explain everything that had happened tonight. But this brief hesitation nearly caused him significant trouble.

Tonight, Amorsta finally witnessed a side of Albus Dumbledore that was unknown to the students of any house, who always saw him as kind and friendly.

In this moment, Dumbledore was the legend who had once defeated the first Dark Lord, Grindelwald. He was the most powerful wizard of the era, who had kept the second Dark Lord suppressed for nearly thirty years, and the Chief Warlock of the International Confederation of Wizards, whose reputation alone could rival the entire Ministry of Magic.

To the Dumbledore of this moment, disobedience was rebellion!

Without any pretense or buildup, Dumbledore simply raised his wand and cast a Disarming Charm. However, with his immense, unparalleled magical power, the spell lit up the air with a hundred thin threads of lightning. Amorsta felt his scalp tingle and his face turn pale.

The silver-black vortex of magic that had easily handled Charlie and the others' attacks earlier now disintegrated in an instant under the force of the Disarming Charm!

But this didn't mean that Amorsta would just give up. He had his own pride.

In the blink of an eye, he swung his wand widely, summoning a massive, shiny silver shield with golden serpents engraved on its surface from thin air to block the incoming spell.

Boom!

A deep, thunderous sound, like winter thunder echoing across the land, spread instantly in all directions.

Amorsta saw countless stars flash before his eyes and staggered back a few steps.

Dumbledore seemed surprised that Amorsta Blaine could block his spell. A trace of astonishment flickered in his bright blue eyes, but only for a moment.

"Stop, Headmaster Dumbledore!"

At that moment, Professors McGonagall and Snape finally arrived. Seeing the devastated state of the Forbidden Forest, Professor McGonagall staggered and covered her mouth with her hands, disbelief written all over her face.

Severus Snape, being more resilient, rushed towards Dumbledore, who was about to cast another spell, shouting loudly,

"Wait, Dumbledore, there must be a misunderstanding here!"

Severus Snape boldly and unceremoniously grabbed Dumbledore's hand to stop him from casting another spell.

Panting heavily, Snape glanced around. When he saw Bill Weasley hanging upside down under the Levicorpus charm, his breathing became even more rapid,

"Levicorpus."

He lowered Bill to the ground, and as the dizzy Bill Weasley hit the ground, he stumbled comically to the side, his handsome face full of fear.

It wasn't until Professor McGonagall rushed past Snape and Dumbledore to comfort Bill gently that he began to regain his senses and take in the current situation.

"Professor McGonagall, I saw it. Someone used the Killing Curse just now. I swear I saw it!"

Bill's terrified words fell like a chill wind, silencing everyone.

Snape, who was still gripping Dumbledore's hand, felt the old wizard's wrist tighten as if to break free from his grasp.

"Hand over your wand, Amorsta!"

Snape spoke firmly to the solitary figure of Amorsta Blaine, his voice resolute,

"Trust me, Amorsta, misunderstandings can be cleared up. I believe you!"
