After five hours of intense fighting, Edgar arrived at the headquarters of the Dragon Shark Pirate Union.
However, the island was vastly different from five hours ago. There were craters of all sizes on the island, smoke rising from the ruins, armed soldiers everywhere, and armored vehicles and various aircraft patrolling back and forth.
According to statistics, this battle had consumed 100 missiles of various types and thousands of artillery shells, nearly turning the entire island upside down. The Red Alert Legion suffered seven deaths (encountering a ninth-level human squad) and twenty injuries. A total of thirty prisoners were taken, along with two grain warehouses, three treasure vaults, and a ruined island.
As the headquarters of the Dragon Shark Pirate Union, it was stocked with a large amount of food, as well as various looted magical cores, jewels, precious metals, and other items. Edgar had come here to see the pirates' treasure.
"Brother King, where is their treasure?" Although Alda, Nicole, and Alice were all women, they were not strangers to death. Alda had once possessed a magical sword and experienced various forms of killing, and all of this was just a small scene. Nicole and Alice had been raised as warriors in the Elf Kingdom and, coupled with their hatred of the Dragon Shark Pirate Union, they not only did not find the situation frightening but actually secretly enjoyed it. "I don't know! Reno, take us to the pirate's treasure vault," Edgar smiled at Alda and called over Reno, switching to an armored vehicle and driving towards the pirate's treasure vault. Nicole and Alice were used to these strange metal items and didn't make a big fuss about it.
"Your Highness, we're here! There are some wonderful magical mechanisms here, and if it weren't for the tree elves, we might not have found this treasure! And, the treasure hasn't been opened yet!" The car drove for about fifteen minutes before stopping in front of a forest. Two tree elves were standing beside a tree, talking non-stop.
"It seems that our knowledge of magic needs to be improved!" Edgar frowned. When the Science Center was first built, magic research was considered the most important research goal. Unfortunately, despite a lot of manpower and resources being invested, progress was slow. It wasn't until they received help from the tree elves that they made significant progress.
Reno looked at the busy tree elves and sighed, thinking, "Our research into magic is just beginning, and we really do fall short in many areas compared to these races!"
The two tree elves worked for a while and finally found a way to open the treasure vault door. With a series of incantations, the tree slowly stood up, and a one-meter-diameter hole appeared under the tree.
"This mechanism is truly amazing!" Edgar stared in amazement at the large hole, realizing that the mechanism could be used in such a way. Seeing the opening of the hole, two tree people took the flashlights and walked into the hole. A few soldiers, armed to the teeth, followed behind the tree elf, watching every move inside the hole.
"Sir, confirmed safe! These pirates are quite literary! The tree hole is full of books!" A few minutes later, Edgar's communicator received an E-language message from X-country soldiers that was awkwardly put together. Since Edgar had ordered that E-language and E-characters be the common language and characters in the base, those who couldn't speak EX-language or write E-characters would not be considered for promotion or salary increase. A bunch of X-country soldiers spent their free time learning the language and characters every day.
"Books? Let's go down and take a look!" Edgar was starting to become interested in this group of pirates. Pirates, whether on Earth or in another world, usually seek gold and jewels, and it was rare for pirates to collect books.
Edgar pulled Alda and Nicole along with him as he slowly walked down the tree hole, without noticing the disappointed face of Alice behind him. Alice was angry in her heart, thinking, "Doesn't he know that he has two fiancées, and there's a beautiful girl here too?" Alice didn't realize that she wasn't Edgar's girlfriend, and why should he care about her? Women are like that - when you pay attention to them, they say you're bothering them, and when you don't pay attention to them, they complain that you have poor eyesight.
In fact, Edgar really didn't have much interest in Alice. If we're talking about beauty, Edgar's Alda, Tifa, Elena are not worse than Alice, and Alice is not like Nico, a cute little girl. Edgar's mind is currently on the beautiful women he has summoned, and he has no time to deal with the princess of the elf kingdom for now.
"Wow! A huge library!" Edgar descended the 36 spiral staircases shaped like a top, and the first thing he saw was a row of books. This treasure cave, no, this library is huge enough to be a football field! The bookshelves are lined up with books of all kinds. Although this library is underground, it is not damp, but very dry! Most of the books are made of small sheep skin, and are arranged in categories.
"Reno, notify the nearest aircraft carrier fleet to come over. Upgrade to red alert, make sure these books are safely transported back to the base!" Edgar, excitedly, used E-language to give a command to Reno.
What is the world's greatest wealth? Some say it is gold and silver, some say it is beautiful women, some say it is immortality, but for a civilization, these are not important. The world's most precious treasure is knowledge, and most of it comes from books.
Edgar doesn't know what the books record, but he knows that these books will greatly help him, even change the whole world.
"Wow! Such a huge library! Your Highness, you don't have to be so nervous!" Alice was intelligent, but she didn't know Edgar's thoughts. Seeing Edgar's expression, she smiled and said to Edgar.
Edgar saw Alice's confusion and didn't explain, just smiled and said, "These thousands of books are worth millions of soldiers."
On the other hand, Alda, hearing Edgar's words, smiled and said, "King brother, you are wise!" Nicole and Alice looked at each other with big eyes, not understanding what Edgar and Alda were up to.
"Okay, let's go! These will be taken care of! Let's go see the real treasure! Reno, you stay here to handle these!" Edgar smiled, kissed Alda and Nicole lightly on the forehead, and walked out of the library.
"Being a pirate is still quite wealthy!" Edgar drove with the three beauties to the real treasure, looking at the entire room filled with magic crystals, gems, and gold and smiling.
"Move these away, and the first defense target is the library! Come on, you can pick anything you like!" Edgar looked at the many jewels and felt very happy, smiling at the three of them.
"Then don't be stingy!" Alice smiled, walking into the room and picking up a string of black pearl necklace at random.
Edgar didn't care at all, smiling and said, "Like it, take it! If you have the ability, you can even take away the entire treasure!"
"Your Majesty, you should return to the main battleship. Our friends are willing to talk now!" Suddenly, Edgar's comm device beeped, and Reno appeared on the screen, smiling at Edgar.
Edgar's face lit up with joy, and he smiled back, "Our human friend finally decided to speak? I thought he could hold out for a while longer! I'll be back soon, arrange everything for me, and have someone else take charge over there! Finding a deputy like you who makes me happy is not an easy task!"
"Your Highness, I'll take care of it!" Reno was flattered by Edgar's praise and smiled lightly.
Edgar smiled and disconnected the comm. When he arrived at the beach, Reno had already prepared a small boat, and they boarded it and returned to the aircraft carrier.
"What did our beloved human friend instruct us to do, my dear Captain Kane!" Edgar had learned this exaggerated expression from the American soldiers he had been spending time with.
"Your Highness! The guy was very cooperative, and he told us everything!" Kane smiled and handed Edgar a transcript. Edgar took the transcript and passed it to Alda, smiling, "No need, Kane, just tell me directly!"
"It's the story of Prince Hamlet! Your Highness will be pleased!" Kane smiled and began to explain slowly.
Jesus Durand, the founder of the Dragon Shark Pirate Union, was the last prince of the country of Gulan. The country of Gulan was the greatest magical empire on the Great 6 five hundred years ago. Gulan once unified a third of the continent, but ultimately fell due to a massive uprising sparked by the last emperor, Sal Durand's tyranny.
Jesli Durand was a brilliant strategist, and at just 13 years old when his country was destroyed, he led the loyal soldiers and disgruntled remnants of the royal family away with the treasury and the Gulan Library, disappearing into obscurity.
No one could have imagined that Jesli would actually establish the terrifying Dragon Shark Pirate Union on the open sea. Jesli's descendants never gave up on restoring their country, relying on the Dragon Shark Pirate Union to plunder funds and the money they took with them when they fled, building a formidable presence on the continent.
"The Prince's Revenge! Excellent!" Edgar smiled. A good story.
"Gulan!" Alice and Nicole looked pale and trembling, seeming to be afraid of the name.
"Nicole, Alice, don't be afraid!" Edgar held the two women in his arms, stroking their shoulders gently and comforting them. Under Edgar's comfort, the two women gradually calmed down.
"In the Gods' War, Gulan was the strongest ally of the Light God System and once held off the continuous attack of the Dark God System for a week single-handedly. Gulan Alice collapsed into Edgar's arms, trembling like a frightened kitten.
"Don't be afraid! It's all over now! The country of Guran has disappeared!" Edgar was somewhat helpless, as the elf's lifespan was too long, and many elves who had participated in the gods' war were still alive, with a deep memory of Guran.
"She's asleep!" After a while, Edgar felt that Alice was gradually calming down and was about to pick her up from his arms, but he found that Alice had already fallen asleep sweetly. On the other hand, Nico was waiting with big eyes, curiously watching Alice and Edgar.
"After transporting the treasure of the Dragon Shark Pirates, leave enough power to guard the books, and we'll set sail immediately!" Edgar picked up Alice and slowly spoke to Captain Kane.
"Yes! Your Majesty, please rest assured!" Kane saluted respectfully and said.
"Alda, Nico, let's go!" Edgar carried Alice, accompanied by Alda and Nico, and walked out.
