Little Red Snake reacted extremely quickly, realizing something was amiss and trying to dart away, but Su Shu, who was prepared, was even faster. She grabbed a rolling pin nearby and struck the snake's head just as it appeared above the basin, causing it to see stars and spin, then while it was stunned, she swiftly secured a mesh bag over the basin, tightly binding it with several rounds of rope around the rim.
