Having confirmed that no one was around the villa, Song Xiaodong cautiously emerged from the room, into a corridor lit by lights. Stepping out here meant having nowhere to hide if he encountered someone.

The corridor was not long, and it led directly into a living room where he immediately smelled the fragrance of food—particularly enticing for the very hungry Song Xiaodong.
The food was laid out on the dining table, two delicate dishes, one meat and one vegetarian, along with a small bowl of rice. The plates and chopsticks were already set, but there was no one in the living room.
After looking around and seeing no one on the first floor, Song Xiaodong immediately went over and started devouring the food with the chopsticks.
