"Do you cook every day?" he asked from behind her as she stirred the food in front of her.
"No," she replied, arranging the plates and shoveling the cooked snap peas onto a dish.
"Oh?" he raised an eyebrow.
"I used to cook when I was at home. But in the past five years, I've mostly been dining out, so I haven't had the chance to cook. Besides, there's no one to appreciate it if I do. I don't feel like cooking just for myself." Yucen had learned the art of cooking from her grandmother, especially fish dishes.
"I'm also alone; how about we cook together?" Jingtang moved closer, catching a subtle fragrance from her.
