This night was anything but peaceful.
After escaping back to the suite with McDull in his arms,
McDull looked up at Cassie, his large eyes filled with grievance. "I flipped him off!"
Cassie was dazed for a moment. "Who? Who are you talking about?"
"That bad man who's irresponsible towards Little Zhouzhou!" McDull, looking like a guilty Baobao, fiddled with his fingers and added helplessly as he looked at Cassie, "When I saw his face, I knew it was him.
I originally wanted to hold back, not say anything, not move.
But I couldn't help myself.
I still wanted him to remember me.
Uncle Cassie, do you think he doesn't even know I exist in this world?"
The child's naive words revealed much information.
Cassie was scared by what he had said: "Wasn't your face against my shoulder just now?"
McDull: "I showed my eyes."
Cassie: "You..."
McDull quickly made a swearing gesture: "I really only showed my eyes! I was just too curious, wanting to see who made you and your mummy so nervous! When I saw him, I knew who he was!"
Cassie believed McDull's words.
If McDull had really shown his face, Song Zhen would have definitely come after them.
He sighed gently, "Good boy, Uncle will give you a bath."
The child was exceptionally well-behaved and cooperative.
His behavior appeared no different than usual.
This made Cassie think that the episode had probably passed, right?
After bathing McDull, he tucked him into bed and went to shower himself.
As he came out of the bathroom, he saw McDull had turned on the hotel's computer and was standing at the desk, muttering anxiously, "How do I do this? How should I manage this?"
"McDull? Haven't you slept yet?" Cassie approached. "Do you want me to tell you a story?"
McDull turned around quickly, staring at Cassie with a terrified face!
Cassie didn't expect such a reaction from the child.
He hesitated, then suddenly realized, "McDull, are you trying to... find information about your daddy?"
McDull hung his head, his voice barely audible: "I... I don't acknowledge him, I just want to see what kind of person he is.
I just want to look, that's all."
Cassie was silent for a while, then stepped forward, lifted McDull into his arms, and sat down together at the desk.
McDull nestled in his arms, sitting on his lap.
He watched as Cassie typed two characters, then pictures and information about that man appeared.
McDull was still young and couldn't recognize many words.
He stared eagerly at the photos, wanting to ask Cassie, but not daring to.
Cassie carefully observed the child's reactions, feeling very heartbroken, "McDull, whatever you want to know, I can tell you.
McDull, Uncle Cassie hopes to become your best friend.
You also have every right to know everything about this person."
McDull looked up with his wet, large eyes, asking, "What's his name?"
Cassie rubbed his hair. "His family name is Song, his name is Song Zhen."
McDull pressed further, "What does he do?"
Cassie: "He's a businessman."
McDull persisted, "Is he married? Does he have a Baobao at home?"
Cassie: "No, he's unmarried."
Tears suddenly fell from McDull's eyes, "Then why doesn't he want me?
Then why doesn't he want Little Zhouzhou, the Little Fairy?
Are we not good enough?
Is it because I'm not good, that he despises me?"
Tears also fell from Cassie's eyes.
He knew he had lost.
Even though the child really liked him and wanted him to be a daddy,
no one could truly replace the real daddy in the child's heart.
