"I'm sorry."
Cassie sincerely apologized.
Gu Xinzhou looked at a billboard not far away that advertised rural family fun.
She smiled at Cassie, full of expectation like a teenage girl, "Cassie, let's go have some rural joy, shall we?"
Cassie smiled indulgently, "At your command!"
That day, Gu Xinzhou and Cassie, with McDull in tow, had a blast as if they were a family of three—they picked strawberries in a big greenhouse, fished by the pond, harvested vegetables in the garden, and chased chickens around the fields.
They had so much fun, turning their harvest over to the farmhouse for processing.
The meals tasted exceptionally delicious.
Gu Xinzhou ate a lot, and so did McDull.
Cassie laughed and said, "You two can really eat! It's as if those steamed dumplings and wontons earlier were for nothing."
Gu Xinzhou swallowed a mouthful of food and beamed, "Farming burns all the calories we've eaten!"
