The wind was strong tonight, but it didn't feel as cold on the skin as one might imagine. Chen Ziqian had brought Suxin back to Jinfeng Garden, and as she got out of the car, Suxin suddenly felt a sense of loss.
"Go inside, take a bath and have a good sleep," Chen Ziqian instructed, "You walk in, and I'll watch until you're inside."
"You... where... where have you been staying these days?" Suxin hesitated but still asked.
"Me? A man can sleep anywhere. Sometimes I go back to the old house, sometimes I stay at Liuzi's, and sometimes I stay at a hotel."
This answer made Suxin uncomfortable, the feeling of being usurped? Now, it seemed like a certainty.
"What's with that look?" Chen Ziqian's hand reached out from the window and took hold of Suxin's, "It's nothing, if you can always stay here and not leave, I'm willing to live outside for the rest of my life. Just knowing you're still here at least keeps my heart from wandering."
