Suxin hailed a cab and arrived at the Dihao Grand Hotel around 7:15 PM.
"Miss, may I help you with anything?" A male attendant approached her as soon as she entered.
"It's fine; I'm here to see a friend. I'll go up by myself." Without wasting much time with the attendant, Suxin headed straight for the elevator and pressed the button for the eighteenth floor.
When the elevator doors opened again, Suxin stepped out onto the eighteenth floor. True to its five-star status, everything on the floor appeared grand and luxurious. Even the leather sofas in the lounge outside the elevator looked impressive, complemented by two large potted plants that added an elegant touch. The red carpet was pristine, extending all the way to the far end.
The hallway was lined with guest rooms, and Suxin walked past them one by one, starting from A1801 until A1808.
Strangely, the door of A1808 was ajar. Whether it was accidentally left that way or intentionally left open was unclear.
