Lunch was simple, comprising four dishes and a soup, all of them homestyle and mediocre in taste.
"Uncle Liu is old, and he usually cooks just for himself, so the taste is quite average. Just bear with it to fill your stomach. I'll take you out for something delicious tonight," Ziqian said with a smile, even though Suxin had been frowning since she came downstairs.
"No, I didn't say the food was bad. Don't misconstrue my words!" Suxin replied awkwardly, aware that Uncle Liu was standing beside them watching them eat. How could she be so impolite as to criticize openly?
"Then why are you frowning like that? I thought it was because you found the food terrible!"
"Ziqian, you know exactly why I'm frowning," Suxin whispered, lowering her voice because Uncle Liu was standing nearby.
"Since it's not that bad, you should eat more. It's rare for Uncle Liu to cook so much good food since he's usually alone here," Ziqian changed the subject.
