Chapter 21 - Episode 21: Picked One in Ten Thousand and Got Trash 8

"When people speak, dogs should not interrupt. How come you're everywhere?" As soon as Zhou Xueyin heard Mi Lu's voice, she was overtaken by a physiological disgust and wanted to curse, "Are you the group leader or something, meddling for no reason?"

"I am the consultant for this group! Don't forget, our group won first place in the Guangzhou competition for Final Fantasy last year!" Mi Lu said proudly.

Upon hearing this, Zhou Xueyin seemed to remember something. But the character Mi Lu cosplayed wasn't even the main character, and a year later, she dared to shamelessly boast about it as if she had covered herself in glory.

"Wow, a minor character from back then now claims to be a consultant? Hehehe..." Zhou Xueyin laughed sarcastically.

"So, Miss Consultant, I'd like to know, what insights do you have on the current situation of the group?" Jixiang took over the phone and continued to inquire.

"Right now, the problems within the group are pretty obvious. But to solve them is quite simple. Just let Guo Zi agree, have me play Yuna, and I guarantee that in the dance competition a week later, we will win a place!" Bold as ever, Mi Lu dared to try and snatch Yao Shanshan's character directly over the phone.

"Hey, I've seen greedy, but never someone as greedy as you, taking someone's boyfriend and now even their role! In a few days, are you going to snatch the group leader's position as well?" Zhou Xueyin couldn't hold back her words in her anger.

As soon as Jixiang heard that the conversation was heading in the wrong direction, she quickly turned off the speakerphone, "Tell Guo Zi, guarantee that within a week, Shanshan can master Yuna's solo dance part. Tell him to relax completely!"

After saying this, Jixiang hung up the phone and glared at Zhou Xueyin.

Zhou Xueyin stuck out her tongue, realizing she had misspoken, "I was just too angry and spoke without thinking... Shanshan, let's practice with the video game footage, and we'll definitely be fine!"

"You should be thankful that I took dance lessons as a child. The dance for Yuna is so simple, it's practically child's play. Forget about a week; I can do it just by watching it twice," Jixiang said confidently, "Shanbao, don't worry. I promise I won't let them take your role away!"

"Jixiang, you're truly the best..." Yao Shanshan hugged Jixiang tightly, moved to tears.

"By the way, Comrade Zhou Xueyin..." Jixiang suddenly looked at Zhou Xueyin with a serious expression.

"Eh heh..." Zhou Xueyin also knew that she had misspoken earlier.

"I have to remind you! If you really want this website to survive, you need to change that quality of yours where your mouth moves faster than your brain," Jixiang said earnestly.

"I know that sometimes I get worked up and say whatever's on my mind..." Zhou Xueyin was all too aware of this bad habit.

"That's fine with us; after all, we've been together for four years and are used to it. But if you go and talk to clients the same way, blurting out anything that comes to mind, I'm afraid the website won't have a chance to grow; you'll have offended all the clients," Jixiang explained further.

"Next time, take a deep breath first, then stay calm for three seconds. Consider what you should say and what you shouldn't. Don't just blurt out everything that comes to mind when you're heated," she continued.

"Mm-hmm! Okay! I'll try to pay attention! It's admittedly not a great habit... hehe..." Zhou Xueyin laughed embarrassedly.

"I'm going to take Shan to practice dancing. Go ahead and do your thing," Jixiang said as she took out her laptop and started to watch the Final Fantasy dance videos.

Just then, Zhou Xueyin seemed to hear someone knocking at the door. Curious about who it could be, she opened the door and saw, through the old-fashioned security door, that it was Wei Jingzhu who had arrived.

"Yo, that was quick! How come it's just you today?" Zhou Xueyin opened the security door, invited Wei Jingzhu inside, and took out a pair of disposable slippers from the shoe cabinet, "Change your shoes... although the house isn't exactly clean... hehe"

"Xiang Yue has returned to her country. It's just me during the summer break. I'm too lazy to go back to my hometown, so I've just been staying in the dorm by myself," Wei Jingzhu responded while changing shoes and answering Zhou Xueyin's question.

"Let me introduce you, Jixiang, Yao Shanshan." Zhou Xueyin waved to the two people studying the dance in the bedroom.

"Hello."

"Hello."

"Kang Siyin is in the workspace..." Zhou Xueyin pointed towards the large room in the opposite direction.

"Your startup environment is quite..." Wei Jingzhu hesitated, stopping mid-sentence.

"Tough going? One side is the office area, and the other is the living quarters. It'll be better once we have enough money to move into an office building!" Zhou Xueyin laughed.

"What's tough about it? This is too comfortable!" Wei Jingzhu followed behind Zhou Xueyin and came into the bright and spacious room, "The windows are so clean, and the view is vast. And you even keep a cat?"

"Comfortable?" Actually, Zhou Xueyin had always imagined the start of entrepreneurship as renting an office building and commuting in a small car to and from work.

"Isn't this comfortable?" Wei Jingzhu looked at Zhou Xueyin in surprise, "Let me tell you this, the living conditions of several entrepreneurs I know are quite tough. Living in basements or semi-basements is one thing, but to have no kitchen and no bathroom? They all use shared ones!"

"Uh..." After hearing Wei Jingzhu's description, Zhou Xueyin didn't know what to say.

"However, they all rented office buildings directly..." Wei Jingzhu quickly added.

"Well, that settles it! If they spend so much on the facade, of course, they have to cut back on living expenses. Our way is better, dual-purpose for business and living. They don't interfere with each other!" Zhou Xueyin felt secretly pleased with her wise decision at the beginning.

"Oh, I've been so focused on chatting with you, I forgot to introduce her, that's Kang Siyin..." Zhou Xueyin habitually looked towards Kang Siyin's seat, but she wasn't there, "Hm? KK?"

She glanced up and saw Kang Siyin had already hidden by the balcony door.

"Kang Siyin, I've told you about her. Please be understanding," Zhou Xueyin said to Wei Jingzhu, slightly embarrassed.

"No problem, but you have to tell me what's going on with the forum," Wei Jingzhu prepared to start checking the forum's condition.

"It's just, just that the backup keeps throwing errors, continually reporting errors," Kang Siyin said nervously.

"Let me have a look..." Wei Jingzhu confidently reached out to operate on Kang Siyin's computer.

"Don't touch it!" Just as Wei Jingzhu's hand was about to touch her mouse, Kang Siyin immediately shrieked.

"Huh? What's wrong?" Wei Jingzhu was truly startled by her yell.

"Ah... KK doesn't like strangers touching her things. You can work on my computer instead..." Zhou Xueyin pulled Wei Jingzhu over to her own desk.

"Phew..." From a distance, Kang Siyin could be seen quietly sighing in relief.

Fortunately, her future position was Technical Director, which would allow her to hide in a corner, avoiding meeting strangers. Otherwise, once the company had a constant stream of clients coming in and out, it would make her sick every day.

"Is this computer a new setup?" Wei Jingzhu booted up Zhou Xueyin's computer, "I remember, to play a game with you, I had to notify you at least half an hour in advance."

"Don't even start on setting up this computer... I almost dug my own grave..." Zhou Xueyin replied with a wry smile.
