"Brother, good morning." Zhuo Xiangqiao led Lin Yue towards the table and greeted Zhuo Xiangnan, who was standing on the steps.
Lin Yue looked up at Zhuo Xiangnan on the steps, noticing the unpleasant look on his face. She laughed mockingly at herself; when had he ever looked at her kindly? But now she no longer cared about him; she already had someone with whom she could share her life, someone who was committed to her through thick and thin.
"Good morning," Lin Yue politely greeted him, but there was an obvious sense of distance in her voice.
Feeling the aloofness in her words, Zhuo Xiangnan's heart felt as though it was being pricked by needles, aching intensely. He didn't know how he had managed to make his way to the table, watching the two of them eat breakfast intimately. He mechanically ate what was before him, forcing himself not to listen or look, yet his ears involuntarily captured every word of their conversation.
