Ellie made sure to observe the area around the house more, maybe the guards were just hidden?
But even after a thorough observation she still found no one. There was no doubt about it, the compound was unguarded.
Some of the guards had definitely been dispatched to areas around the city but Ellie did not expect them to leave their house so open.
Although the clan head was more than capable of protecting himself it was still far from normal. This only made her more wary, she could not afford to be rash, if she was caught here it would not bode well for her side.
Maybe what she was doing was stupid after all. But the leaders were not taking any real action, if left alone it would turn to something far greater.
Whoever did this was not just going to sit on their arms and watch the treaty get signed. If she let them do as they pleased it was as good as giving up on the treaty.
