There were subtle but noticeable changes in the small city after that incident.
The people were far more wary of each other, but that was not restricted to the two parties that were here for negotiations. Even the citizens seemed far more cautious when around the foreigners than usual.
Unlike before, guards from both sides were now always fully suited in their armour and could be seen all around the city to protect the citizens.
It had been packaged up as a peaceful gesture to ensure the safety of the people but in truth it was that and more.
Because with the guards the clan heads as well as the Phantom lords could keep their eyes on the movements of the citizens.
They too were not above suspicion.
