Jeremy had eaten so much the night before that he couldn't sleep well. As he lay in bed, he reminisced about the days following the apocalypse.
He had to admit, his time at Summer's place was the most relaxed he had experienced.
No longer did he need to worry about those so-called relatives who, under the guise of concern, secretly wished for his demise.
If only he could stay here forever...
Jeremy thought that as long as the hotel was open, he would stay here for as long as he could.
Lost in thought, the sky gradually brightened, and he heard the familiar sound of Summer coming upstairs.
Soon, the few remaining guests in the hotel also headed upstairs for breakfast.
Charlotte, still full from last night, felt as though her stomach hadn't fully digested the food. After a cup of soy milk, she prepared to head downstairs.
"Charlotte."
At the top of the stairs, a woman from room 103 called out to her.
"Do you need something, guest?" Charlotte stopped and offered a warm smile.
The woman looked much better than when she had first arrived, her demeanor more confident and lively.
It seemed she had recovered quickly in the past few days.
The woman stepped closer and spoke rapidly, "I was wondering if the offer you made about providing goods still stands? I'll be leaving early tomorrow morning since the rain has lessened. I'll come back as soon as possible to collect the goods. I hope you can have everything ready so we don't waste each other's time."
Charlotte nodded in agreement.
The woman visibly relaxed, then became serious again. "May I ask your name, Boss?"
Charlotte extended her hand, "I'm Summer. You can call me Summer Boss."
"Alright, Summer Boss, my name is Su Mei."
...
"Jeremy, just be my light source and don't move."
Charlotte's eyes sparkled as she dashed into a furniture store.
Each furniture store had its own theme, designed to mimic different indoor environments. The moment she stepped inside, it felt like entering someone's bedroom.
Charlotte was tempted to move every piece of furniture into her hotel!
"This cushion looks great—take it! This footstool is nice too—take it!"
She found a walnut wood single bed!
Charlotte eagerly placed it into room 104, replacing the old wooden plank bed. She also took a matching walnut wood bedside table for room 104.
Jeremy noticed she was swapping out beds for the other rooms and glanced at a nearby store with a new Chinese-style design, feeling a pang of interest.
Once she had browsed enough, he led her to the store with the new Chinese-style furniture.
Jeremy walked straight to a classic, minimalist new Chinese-style big bed and waved at her.
"Put this bed into my room, please?"
"Huh? Do you like it?" Charlotte patted the mattress, finding it quite soft.
"Yes."
"Alright."
The original bed from room 201 was moved to the hotel's storage, and the new bed was placed in 201.
"And this bedside table, including the vase, the illustration, and this carpet, all of it into my room."
Jeremy finally understood the joy of zero-cost shopping—taking whatever he liked without worrying about the price felt amazing.
Charlotte placed everything he handed over into room 201.
Jeremy looked around the store, fetched a stool, and removed the curtains as well, asking her to put them into room 201.
"Can you get a wardrobe? I need a shoe cabinet too. There's no place to put my shoes."
"Sure, no problem!"
In no time, room 201 was transformed to match the store's carefully designed setup. Except for the floor color, everything was near perfect.
The two of them, having found common interests, swapped everything from room 202 and the single room.
Jeremy handled the design, while Charlotte took care of the "moving."
Currently, there were only two double rooms, but since most of the store's designs were for double rooms, Charlotte decided to store the furniture in the system's grid, planning to replace the double room setup later when upgrading.
After shopping at the furniture store, they headed to the appliance store.
This time, Jeremy was not just a source of light but also helped her find the most expensive machines. The more expensive they were, the more satisfying it was for her to collect.
The appliance store was even cleaner than the furniture store, and the equipment was more sophisticated.
"Let's start with a few air conditioners," Charlotte said with determination.
So they took all the most expensive air conditioners from the store, planning to discard them if they broke in the future.
They also picked out various types of refrigerators: side-by-side, cross-door, multi-door, three-door, and two-door models, intending to place one in each room.
For washing machines, she chose washing-drying combos and replaced the drum washing machine in her room, ensuring everything was handled in one step and saving on drying time.
"How many water dispensers do you want?" Jeremy brought over a commercial direct drinking water dispenser. "This one connects directly to the water pipe, has a filter, and can provide hot water."
Charlotte thought for a moment. "How many are left?"
"Five."
"Alright, I'll take them all."
Charlotte figured that two could go in the lobby. With the same pricing standard as the dispensers, it would create another revenue opportunity.
"Any other similar items? Bring them over!"
Jeremy pondered for a moment before saying, "There's a store selling toilet bowls over there, all automatic sensing types. Do you want any?"
"Are they expensive?" Charlotte only cared about the price.
"Expensive!"
"Then skip it."
Maybe she was just too poor before, unable to afford anything, so now when she got things for free, she only cared about the expensive ones and ignored the cheaper ones...
Five-digit toilets?
The most expensive one went into her room, Jeremy chose one for 201, and the five-digit one went into 202. The first floor was out of luck, as it only had squat toilets.
Jeremy brought over a box of items. "Five-digit showerheads, take them."
He realized that Summer Boss was thrilled by high numbers, so the higher the price, the more excited she was.
"Impressive! You found these!" Charlotte patted his arm to show her appreciation. "You understand me. Price, take!"
"Put this in my room." Jeremy nodded in understanding and brought over another box.
"No problem!"
"Five-digit floor scrubber, four-digit robot vacuum, four-digit garment steamer, four-digit fan, and nearly five-digit dehumidifier—all of them are here, take them."
"Four-digit mite remover, five-digit hairdryer, five-digit beauty device, four-digit water flosser, and four-digit electric toothbrush—all of them are here, take them."
"Oh, and there's a five-digit massage chair over there. Want it?"
"Definitely want it!"
"What about the TV?"
"Yes, definitely!"
The 70-inch TV in the mall cost 2000 points and 5 secondary crystal nuclei!
"Let's go, I saw a five-digit TV inside."
So Charlotte ended up acquiring five ten-thousand-yuan TVs for 0 points!
Her smile stretched widely, and she was overjoyed.
In the future, one TV in the lobby and one in each room!
Work while slacking off, and continue slacking off after work!
