Chapter 27 - Chapter 18 White Bone Demon

Lin Fang looked more and more convinced that the demon before him resembled the legendary corpse demon, but this woman had obviously just transformed into a demon, so there must be someone behind her.

As he contemplated, the corpse demon charged at him again. She seemed to have lost her reason, like an enraged beast, with only a thirst for slaughter and blood remaining.

A newly born corpse demon was not something to make Lin Fang apprehensive. He punched her squarely on the face, the force was so great that it even caused the bones to crack slightly, and the intense pain made the flames in the corpse demon's eye sockets dance wildly, as she let out a strange, piercing shriek.

The sound echoed to the heavens, spreading from the village and reverberating through the mountains. Meanwhile, unnoticed by Lin Fang and the others, a dark cloud had flown from the deep mountains in the East, following the direction of the sounds and swiftly approaching.

The young man looked at his sister, who had now completely turned into a demon, his eyes filled with sorrow. In this vast world, he had suddenly become completely alone. Recalling the once happy life his family had shared, the youth couldn't help but kneel on the ground and say, "Why did this happen, sister, why did you turn into this."

Memories of the happy moments his family once shared echoed in his mind; his sister had always been the family's treasure, adored by everyone because she was a latecomer.

Yet now, the girl who used to sweetly call out 'brother', and the girl who would search for her brother with eyes red from crying had become this.

He knelt on the ground, weeping continuously, as if to vent the desolation in his heart, calling out his sister's name over and over again but receiving no answer.

Lin Fang's battle with the corpse demon continued. It was clear that this newly born corpse demon was no match for him, as she was beaten back repeatedly, her body covered with wounds.

Just then, the sky was enveloped by dark clouds, and a huge White Bone emerged from them, the flames burning in its eye sockets intimidating.

"Who dares injure my wife?" roared White Bone.

Lin Fang threw the barely alive corpse demon aside, readying himself for the upcoming challenge.

"Young Daoist priest, you really don't want to live," the White Bone demon said hatefully.

Lin Fang, unwilling to waste words with such a demon, charged with the Treasured Sword in hand. The two of them tangled in combat, with the White Bone demon unexpectedly pulling a bone whip from its spine.

Their figures wandered through the dark clouds, obscuring them from view below, as the wind stirred by the fight gradually tore the clouds apart, revealing the bright sunshine.

Another loud noise, and their figures split apart in the sky. The White Bone demon stared fixedly at Lin Fang's face, surprised by the emergence of such a tenacious adversary in this place.

A smile appeared on Lin Fang's face; this demon was nothing to him. Confident, he swung the Treasured Sword even faster, creating an impenetrable barrier like a pear blossom misty rain, continuous and relentless, forcing the White Bone demon to retreat again and again.

In no time, the White Bone demon's body was marked with deep sword wounds, instilling fear in this once unrestrained and audacious demon.

Lin Fang, however, grew more excited with the fight. Along the way, he encountered demons that were either pitifully weak or terrifyingly strong; he had never had an opportunity to truly hone his battle skills. How could he let go of such a chance? He pressed on without giving the demon any opportunity to breathe.

White Bone Demon secretly lamented, how could this menacing star, who appeared out of nowhere, be so unrelenting? The tiny body seemed to possess inexhaustible strength, and he couldn't help but think of retreat.

Summoning all his strength, he deflected Lin Fang's attacks, only to see the Corpse Demon suddenly spew a breath of sinister energy from its mouth. The breath was dark and deep, filled with the dread and resentment of living creatures, and it headed straight for Lin Fang's face.

Caught off guard for a moment, Lin Fang was struck right in the face, feeling a swirl of dizziness. Fortunately, his body was Leakless, his Primordial Spirit clear, and his mana was robust. Although he felt somewhat dizzy, his combat strength was undiminished.

Seeing this, the Demon knew it was no match for Lin Fang and took the opportunity to quickly whip up a fierce wind, carrying away the Corpse Demon lying on the ground, and flew off into the distance.

Lin Fang, regaining clarity, shouted, "Where do you think you're running to!" and hurriedly pursued.

As one chased and the other fled, their figures quickly vanished into the mountains, leaving only the young man and Little Fox staring at each other, clueless. Without the art of soaring, they naturally couldn't keep up with the others and could only stand there foolishly.

The Demon ran for its life ahead, while Lin Fang closely followed behind, showing no signs of letting them go. The White Bone Demon saw this, his heart filled with irritation. He was intent on battling Lin Fang but also deeply knew that he was no match for him.

With a strange cry, a dense swarm of bats flew out from between the trees, akin to a dark cloud attack, blotting out the sky and completely surrounding Lin Fang.

Lin Fang, annoyed by these bats, shouted loudly, and from his mouth came flames. These were not ordinary flames but the heartfire of those in the practice of cultivation, which, though seeming ethereal, possessed the might to burn all things in the world. With enough refinement, it could transform into Samadhi True Fire.

The roaring fire blazed in the air, quickly reducing the dense swarm of bats to ash, but Lin Fang looked around to no trace of the Demon.

"Given its flying speed, it couldn't have hidden far. The newly born Corpse Demon had just made a sound, and in no time this Demon rushed over, indicating that its cave mansion must be nearby," Lin Fang muttered to himself, already forming an idea.

He descended from the clouds and found the local Earth God, asking, "Is there a place in these mountains where the White Bone Demon hides?"

The local Earth God happened to be a young scholar. Seeing Lin Fang's outstanding aura, he hastily replied with respect, "Answering the Immortal, there is a place here called White Bone Cave where a demon known as the White Bone King was born."

Upon hearing this, joy appeared on Lin Fang's face. Surely, relying on these beings was the way to go; if he had to search himself, it could take an eternity.

Once the Earth God had pointed out the direction, Lin Fang didn't waste any time and went straight for the Demon's dwelling.

Meanwhile, the Demon, transformed into a bat, slowly flew into a cave mansion. The cave's walls were densely engraved with inscriptions.

The bat landed in the cave and instantly transformed back into the appearance of the White Bone Demon, with the newly born Corpse Demon lying beside him, looking at the Demon hatefully.

"Ha-ha, finally regained consciousness. After so many years, I've finally awaited one," the Demon seemed extremely pleased, gently caressing the Corpse Demon's body with its pristine white bone claws, its face showing an obsessed expression.

"How perfect, we are a match made in Heaven. How can those senseless fools compare to us?"
