His frame was slender, with a pair of fluffy fox ears on his head and a long fox tail trailing behind him; it was clear that he was a Fox Demon.
Hot on his heels, relentlessly pursuing him, was a Wolf Demon, with pitch-black fur, sharp fangs, and blood-red eyes that spoke of his brutality.
At that moment, he was bearing his gaping maw, charging ferociously towards the Little Fox.
"Little Fox, don't run away, this king will cherish you well," the Wolf Demon said in a grating voice.
Lin Fang blinked in surprise, sizing them up. No matter how he looked at it, this Wolf Demon was male, and although the Little Fox looked somewhat effeminate, a careful discernment would reveal his male identity.
"Seems like a demon that just likes to play!" Lin Fang mused silently. Who would have thought that within the Demon Clan, such preferences also existed? It was indeed an eye-opener for Lin Fang.
"In your dreams, you filthy, starving wolf, even if I die, I won't submit to you," the Little Fox said indignantly.
Being regarded as forbidden fruit by a male wolf was utterly revolting for him. It was just unfortunate that Fox Demons were inherently weak, and although this Little Fox could transform into a human shape, it was mainly because foxes were naturally adept at transformation. Therefore, the Little Fox was still considered underage and was no match for this ferocious Wolf Demon.
Upon hearing the Little Fox's words, the Wolf Demon was instantly enraged and argued in a fierce tone, "You ungrateful little thing, just wait, this king will properly deal with you!"
A lecherous gleam flashed in his eyes, but the Wolf Demon's pace didn't slow in the slightest. His sharp claws brought a chill wind across the Little Fox's face, and a bloody trace appeared on that handsome countenance promptly.
The Little Fox, enduring the pain, kept running forward, but his heart was already filled with despair. He didn't know what his end would be; he could only choose to run desperately because to stop would mean a miserable fate.
They dashed past the bushes where Lin Fang was hiding, and Lin Fang stealthily stuck out a foot, firmly blocking the Wolf Demon's path.
A cry of pain was heard; the savage Wolf Demon rolled awkwardly through the forest, flattening countless wild grasses and startling various small animals hidden in the bushes.
With a thud, the Wolf Demon crashed into a large tree that needed four people to circle around, and countless branches and leaves fell from the sky, burying him underneath.
The Wolf Demon leapt up with effort and noticed Lin Fang to the side trying to stifle a laugh. He exploded in rage and said, "Where did this Taoist come from, daring to interfere in my affairs? You must be tired of living."
Only after he had finished speaking did he get a good look at Lin Fang's face. A hint of a smile surfaced on his ferocious face as he said, "What a delicate-looking little Taoist priest, truly a divine gift."
The Wolf Demon spoke while drooling, his eyes filled with lustful light. He had not recognized that Lin Fang was a demon, thinking instead he was a young Daoist priest on a journey.
Lin Fang inwardly cursed his bad luck, aware the Wolf Demon had taken a lascivious interest in him, which was utterly revolting to him as a straight man.
"You're like something from a dung pit, not learning anything good, just garbage. A creature like you should be strung up on a mountain peak and dried into jerky. If I were your father, I'd regret ever bringing a beast like you into the world, what a disgrace," Lin Fang was not one to hold back, as his stream of insults came forth, leaving both the Little Fox and the Wolf Demon stunned.
Having grown up in the mountainside wilderness, they had no knowledge of the art of insulting, and they were both utterly taken aback.
"You're courting death!" The Wolf Demon, regaining his senses, flew into a towering rage. He was a well-known monster within a hundred miles, and he was used to the mountain spirits and wild monsters behaving submissively around him, curbing their aggression. He had never been insulted in such a manner, and rage had replaced any prior compassion, leaving him with a singular desire to rip this insolent little Daoist priest to shreds.
His sharp claws burst forth with a cold gleam in the air, the enormous force even creating the sound of wind.
The Little Fox's eyes widened as he shouted a warning. He did not want to see such a handsome and kind-hearted Daoist priest die at the hands of the Wolf Demon because of him.
Watching the oncoming sharp claws, Lin Fang felt not the slightest bit of tension; after all, he was someone who had faced the thunder of the heavens head-on, so the imposing aura of the Wolf Demon hardly seemed impressive.
With a slight step back, just enough to evade the Wolf Demon's attack, Lin Fang seized the moment when the creature's old strength was fading and new strength had yet to emerge, and he punched the Wolf Demon's head.
There was a thunderous boom as the massive noise echoed between the mountains and woods, startling countless birds into flight. The Wolf Demon's fierce head was buried into the ground by Lin Fang's punch, with its entire head buried in the soil and not-insignificant cracks spreading around, speaking to the punch's immense power.
And this lascivious Wolf Demon, under such formidable strength, was already silenced.
The Little Fox couldn't believe its eyes, rubbing them vigorously to make sure it wasn't dreaming. Only at this moment did it realize it had encountered a legendary high being.
But it soon snapped to reality, urgently shouting, "You've caused a huge disaster, let's hurry and escape!"
Lin Fang looked puzzledly at the anxious Little Fox, not understanding what he meant by that.
"This Wolf Demon is no ordinary character, he's a subordinate of the Great Sage of the Yellow Wind. If the Demon King finds out, both of our lives will be forfeit."
It was only when Lin Fang heard the name Great Sage of the Yellow Wind that he suddenly realized he had wandered into the territory of that Rat Spirit.
"The Great Sage of the Yellow Wind is immensely brutal and fond of eating humans. He's devoured all within hundreds of miles, and now his minions guard these woods daily to catch passing travelers for food. He's so powerful that many famous monsters have been defeated by his hand; you don't know his fierceness, we should run while we can." The Little Fox, seeing Lin Fang's expression and guessing he was unfamiliar with the Great Sage, quickly started to explain.
What the Little Fox didn't know was that Lin Fang was much more familiar with this Demon King than he was.
The Rat Spirit, who dared to call himself the Great Sage after he stole Tathagata's Fragrant Oil, wasn't too surprising to think about; the Demon Clan had a trend of naming themselves after the Seven Great Saints.
Despite this, the fellow's strength was not to be underestimated; even Sun Wukong had a hard time and ultimately summoned Lingji Bodhisattva to subdue him.
However, there were many dubious points to the tale, it was clearly orchestrated by the Buddhist Sect; of course, in these people's mouths, it was something that was destined to be Tang Monk's tribulation.
Lin Fang couldn't care less about these celestial beings' nonsensical matters; as a Little Monster, he should act low-key to avoid the attention of these so-called Immortals, lest he lose his life in the process.
Therefore, he said naturally, "You're right, let's run for it!"
These words made the Little Fox beside him freeze; it hadn't expected the lofty figure it admired to actually agree with its suggestion to flee, and moreover, to do so boldly, without a hint of shame.
"What are you dazing about for, lead the way quickly, I'm not familiar with this place." Lin Fang's light words caused his towering image in the Little Fox's heart to crumble, and the fox, stunned, eventually nodded its head and led Lin Fang along a path to begin their escape.
Not long after they had left, a patrolling Little Demon discovered the Wolf Demon's corpse, immediately causing a clamor that woke the myriad of monsters hiding in the forest.
A monster with a tiger head and human body strode to the scene and shouted loudly, "What's happened to cause such a commotion? Acting so disgracefully, beware the King may not let you off lightly!"
"Tiger Pioneer, Commander Wolf is dead!" The Little Demon hurriedly reported to the Tiger Demon.
"Nonsense, how strong is the Wolf Commander? How could he possibly die here?" The Tiger Pioneer seemed incredulous; although he was on very bad terms with the Old Wolf, he was quite clear on its strength: within hundreds of miles, there were not many monsters that could easily kill him.
