"You two head to the Heavenly Court and deliver this Jade Talisman to the Jade Emperor! Remember, do not view it privately!"
Tathagata Buddha handed a Sound-Transmitting Jade Talisman to Guanyin Bodhisattva, instructing him.
"As commanded!"
A flicker of doubt crossed Guanyin Bodhisattva's mind. Delivering a Sound-Transmitting Jade Talisman to the Jade Emperor should suffice with one person; why the need for both him and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva? And they were not to view it privately—could there be some disgraceful secret within this talisman?
At this thought, intense curiosity welled up in Guanyin Bodhisattva's heart, but he did not show it. After responding, he put away the Sound Transmission Jade Slip, turned around, and left the Great Thunder Sound Temple with Samantabhadra Bodhisattva, ascending the clouds towards the Heavenly Court.
"Buddha, why did you ask them both to go and convey the message?"
