In the sky, phoenixes soar; in the seas, dragons traverse; in blessed immortal mountains, there's the common tread of qilins and the march of myriad beasts.
This is the Cultivation World.
The world of Qi Cultivation is a Semi-Dimension, which is to say it's on the cusp of evolving into a dimension. Once the evolution completes, the heavenly will of this realm will ascend to divinity.
In such a dimensional world, the sky is round and the earth is square, unlike the spherical worlds. An energy field protects the outside, and the creatures living within this realm can see the stars at night but cannot leave. What's called 'ascension' is merely a passage through channels between the dimensional planes, leading to more powerful dimensional worlds.
