Anan first glanced at the Weihe Dragon King in front of him, then at the Military Virtue Star Lord caught by Sun Wukong.
He realized that Wukong had uncovered everything, and now, only by sacrificing himself could he preserve the reputation of the Buddha Sect.
But he was truly unwilling!
As a disciple of the Buddha Tathagata, he had always wanted to do more for the Buddha Sect, to attain a higher position within it, and even to become a Quasi-Saint as his senior brother Jia Ye did, from Daluo Golden Immortal.
The matter of the Buddhist Law spreading to the east, which was agreed upon by the three past Buddhas, was overseen by Bodhisattva Guanyin.
But as more and more variables appeared, the task of spreading the Buddhist Law eastward changed.
Thus, when the Buddha Tathagata decided to propagate the law ahead of time and plant the seed of the Buddhist Law, he immediately volunteered to take on this heavy responsibility.
